My Best friend, Brother, and my loyal dog Evander died today when my parents had him put down. Ive had him since i was 7 years old and he grew up with me his entire life. always by my side always watching and protecting me, always there when i needed him. he was 15 years old 4 months and 12 days old. when my parents put him down. The only wish i have is that i was there to do it. he was my dog and i wasn't there to tell him how much i loved him one last time.

I am sorry to hear about your plight on your furry friend. From what I know, having a friend like that after so long can be the same as losing a family member.

Some might say that you should not mourn the loss of your friend, that you shouldn't be saddened by his passing. They would say that you should smile and be happy that he lived a long and full life and that you were able to share such a time with such a close companion. They would say that this is not a time for tears, but a time for happy reflection.

Whatever it is you do, you have my condolences. It seems these days that fewer and fewer lives get to extend to their full length, human or animal. Too many are cut short by one means or another. I'm sorry you couldn't see your friend off; but he may just be there, waiting to greet you, when you finally follow him.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have a cat and I know how devastated I would be to loose him, so I can only imagine how your feeling. I hope you'll be able to find your happiness and keep his memory alive.

I'm sorry for your loss Adept. I least he lived a good long life. Though gone you at least have the memories of him and keep him in your heart always.
