It was dark october night Andrew hoped that everyone would be where he said it was. He put a note in front of the delight castle saying party at the south part of town in a cabin. He was wearing a half mask and victorian style clothes costume and was getting the food ready.

"Well hope everyone gets here soon" he said

Reina and Tariel walked out of the castle laughing. "That was a fun gambling night." Reina noticed a sign on the board near the front of the castle.

"Hey Tariel, look at this."

"There's a party at a cabin down south from town," Tariel read from the note. "I wonder how it will turn out. Let's go."

Tariel and Reina began to walk towards the south end of town.

Andrew was fixing up everything at the last minute for the party after a while to be safe , sesne he knew everyone would be there late. He just hopes everything goes well, he learned how to make some more potions that could relate to halloween in one way or another.

As they reached the cabin, it seemed a tad dark. "Seems just right for October." Reina knocked on the door. "Hello?"

Tariel walked in behind Reina. "Spooky, ain't it..." He sat down in a chair not far from where Andrew sat. "Not many people here."

A green fox and a blue caribou walk out of Delight Castle, the satisfied looks on their snouts fading as they exit through the front gates.

The caribou straightened his tie and cufflinks, and a sudden gust blew away the fox's white Stetson. Katmir's quick reflexes caught it just within eyesight of Andrew's invitation.

"Oh my Stars and Stripes... Hex, come here and read this!"

The large caribou snorted as he read, then stood up straight. "Just as my Tarot reading concluded, Katmir. It is fate."

"No... it's destiny!", said the fox, grinning from ear to ear.

"Sir, the cage is open and the beast is risen.", said Hex in his deep calm voice.

"Dang it!" Katmir then put his pistol back in his pants and buttoned up the fly. "Hex my furry friend... I sure hope so. Let's go."

Hex followed Katmir down the streets of Bon Bon, passing by many others dressed in ballroom costumes for All Hallows Eve. Hex and Katmir had their own disguises as well...

Katmir put on a decorative Plague Doctor's mask, then took a necklace out of his vest pocket and put it on. It had a small octopus gargoyle hanging from it. Hex put on a multiple monocle made of wood, leather, and copper over his right eye. Then he took off his jacket, revealing his clockwork right arm.

"I just can't believe there's a Halloween party in that old cabin tonight, Hex. You know what's going to happen when we find...". said the fox.

"Yes, sir. I am ready.", replied the caribou.

Soon, they arrived and knocked on the door.

He thinks to himself I wish this party would just get better. He than hears the door knock and opens it.

"Wait katmir and hex what brings you here, i thought soemthing like this would interest you two"

The blue caribou and the green fox removed their hats in greeting, holding their masks.

The renard stepped forward, smiling. "Howdy, ma'am. I'm Katmir Mahal. It's a pleasure to meet you." he said with a wink.

The caribou was more reserved, bowing to the lady. "Good evening, Lady... Gentlemen... Hex DuPointe, at your service."

Katmir hung his hat on the coatrack and put his colorful Plague Doctor's mask back on. Hex hung both his hat and coat, revealing what looked like a mechanical right arm made of similarly colored wood, leather and metal plates. Hex also wore an elaborate monocle that matched his arm.

Katmir looked about the cabin. "Mr Sloth, we actually came here for something else besides a party, but I like what you've done with the place. This cabin is... not so spooky tonight. Ooh! Fruit juice and alcohol...! I'm gonna need a drink." he said, rushing past Andrew and Tariel to the small buffet table.

Hex asked, "Andrew is the back yard also decorated for this party?"

He acts suprisingly trying to hide what he thinks will happen later.

Tariel stood and walk to a bookshelf on the wall. Only two books sat on the shelf, both covered in dust and illegible. Tariel picked one up and shook it to remove the dust, but the book just fell to pieces.

"Well there goes a good read..." Tariel turned around to the group. "Hehe, oops." He sat back down.

Katmir walked up to the young lion with a mixed drink in each paw. "Yeah, I never found the Voynich Manuscript particularly exciting either. Not at a small masquerade party, anyways. Here's a drink, Mr Uhara. It'll make your tail tuft grow a mane. Mr Hex..? It's time to go out back and do you-know-what."

The caribou smiled, saying, "At once, brother. Keep the candles lit. I shall return momentarily."

Hex adjusted his mechanical monocle and manipulated his wood and metal plated right arm. Unlocking a sliding lever, his right paw winched into the forearm, being replaced by a small shovel head. A pipe popped out from the shoulder his arm and let out a bit of hissing steam. The caribou promptly ran out he back door.

Katmir chugged his drink and turned to the sloth. "Andrew, what is this punch made of? I added vodka, but..."

"It doesn't matter to me about teams. What are we looking for?" Tariel took a swig of the drink Katmir handed him.

He said as he picked up some things he would need and starts to pass everyone some things they need a form of light, a machete and some food.

Katmir adjusted his fancy plague doctor's mask, holding the lantern Andrew gave him. "Yep... This explains the minimal decorations and refreshments."

Hex then burst through the back door of the old cabin in a frantic run, dirty, disheveled, and his pants were shredded above his knees. The caribou turned around and slammed the door shut, sliding an old wood block down to keep it closed. He held a fuzzy rectangular object in his normal hand. His steampunk arm was dented and leaking water.

Hex caught his breath. "Katmir..! There's a... It has..! I got... Why are you all holding those things?"

"It's not a costume ball, it's an adventuring party! Toss me the Book."

Hex threw the fuzzy book at Katmir.

Katmir kept his mask on, flipping through his fuzzy book. "Oh, I already believe in the supernatural. I'm writing a book on it. And I'm ready!"

"I'm not..!" replied the caribou, pointing at the four furries. "I've seen horrors out there! You would be wise to stay away from the occult. The thrill will kill..!"

"Hex? Really?" asked the fox.

"No, actually. I have a date with a succubus tonight. Until next time, try to enjoy the daylight. Adieu." said Hex, straightening his messed up clothes and walking out the front door.

Katmir finished his second drink. "Alright. Here today, gore tomorrow. Will madame be joining us?"

Katmir put the fuzzy book into his coat, which has a pocket large enough for it. The green fox popped a pastry into his snout and followed the sloth out the back door of the old cabin.

"So..! What supernatural phenomena are we searching for? A magical object? A mysterious glen? A wandering spirit? A legendary creature? Please don't say it has tentacles... I'm a plague doctor, not a minion of the Marquis DeSade."
