Hey everyone! Just curious what's in your CD player now.
I just got the new Dream Theater album called Octavarium.
Was really excited! Plus I will see them for real next saturday.
One of my long time favourite bands Kansas will play too.
You probably will all know them from the song Dust in the Wind.
It is their first live concert in the Netherlands. Shocked

I listen to lots of music, but my biggest love is progressive music. Bands like Rush, Kansas, Dream Theater, Queensryche, Fates Waring, Savatage Symphony X are among my favourites.

omg not the crazy frog!
brooom brooom brooom hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It was always here on tv with a commercial for a ringtone you could download. Then they put some samples on an old song as a joke. Probably Harold F didn't mind.

LOL. I've got the Crazy Frog ringtone on my mobile....

Music. Let me see......*open* .. an illegal copy of some Evanescence songs (dig that band very much. Their album Fallen been out for a while, anyone knows if they are putting a new album out soon?). ....*open*.. an very old cd of Iron Maiden, with all live songs. ...*open*... an illegal copy of some Apocalyptica. They are 4 or 5 musicians who play chello. But not in the "classic" way. They covered some Metallica songs. Strange huh?

And I dig those bands you've mentioned Satch. Do you have the Queensryche album Operation Mindcrime? I played that cd so much it almost falls apart. There is a general theme/story from start to finish, quite interesting how they did that.

This is what I took with me this week:

in the CD player right now I have the second untitled album () by Sigur Ros. The album and none of the songs have any titles. I think that was a joke because they are from Iceland and English speaking people cannot pronounce them anyway.

Also have some an old REM compilation of their early stuff, Vivaldi's 4 Seasons, and Appetite for destruction by Guns n Roses (cool driving music Twisted Evil )

Jep. This reminds me. I have lent all my GnR cds to a girlfriend, than we broke up... and the b*$tch didn't give them back! Twisted Evil So I bought all of them again, for just under 10 Euro's. Imagine that, GnR doesn't exist anymore (in original line up), and the cds are like 15 or more years old, and they still are available in music stores.

Oh yes 'I remember now'! Wink I used to play that album and set the stereo to only left channel and being able to play all the harmony parts. Cool
If you like concept albums then you should listen to 'scenes from a memory' by Dream Theater. Idea

Thanks Bennie! Very Happy
Most people know Kansas by this song, but they have made so much more great music.
Hope the weather is going to be good! Rolling Eyes

I use mostly Winamp to play music (mp3) on the PC
I recently installed a tool that displays the lyrics when you play a song.
It works as a plugin with winamp (and other progrmas too).

http://www.evillabs.sk/evillyrics/faq/faq.php
It can find quite a few songs !

Anyone usung this or a a similar utility ?

Yeah it's a great festival. Unfortunately lots of band reunions just do summer tours in the US.
Ì had a chance to see a tour a couple of years ago with the old hair metal bands. Winger, Cinderella and Poison. Razz

I'm really excited to see Kansas tomorrow. Hope it won't rain Rolling Eyes
Plus of course my favourite band Dream Theater. I have seen them 10 times live already though. Cool

Hey! I said it with a smile Marcus. The song is about a perfect woman... text not to be taken too seriously.

When it comes to lovin’
Oh she steals the show

Now that is what I was saying!

I mostly listen to classic rock. Rush is one of my favorite bands of all time. I have most of their albums and I also have a Rush live concert video on dvd called A Show of Hands. I’ve haven’t been to one of their concerts yet though, but I’ve been to a couple of Queensryche concerts. I also went to a Dream Theater concert once on their Images and Words tour, but I don't really listen to them much. I think Wait for Sleep is probably my favorite Dream Theater song. I'd like to see their latest live concert video Live at Budokan. It came out earlier this year and it already went platinum in the U.S. In the U.S., their concert videos sell better than their albums. Their only album to go gold in the U.S. was Images and Words, according to http://www.riaa.com. But, as for their concert videos, ‘Metropolis 2000: Scenes from New York’ has gone gold, and ‘Live at Budokan’ has gone platinum already. It’s the same way with Steve Vai. His ‘Live at the Astoria’ live concert video came out in 2003 and it has already gone platinum. His biggest selling album ‘Passion and Warfare‘ has only gone gold and that’s his only album to go gold. I saw ‘Live at the Astoria’ a couple of months ago and it was great. I’ve also seen Joe Satriani in concert once and I also have his live concert video ‘Live in San Francisco’ on dvd. That’s a good video too.
