As for my hair.... Maybe I should just get used to shaving my head. I really need something else for my hands to play or fidget with.)) |

I can't understand why you're having such a hard time with your hair, Caroline. Unless I just missed it and am mistaken, you don't want to be bald. You would like your hair back. So stop cutting your hair or shaving your head. I have'nt had a haircut in three years, so believe me when I say it's not that hard not to cut your hair. Unless I just missed something and you want to be bald? Then just disregard everything I just said. |

((Ash,
It's a mix of things. Part of the reason is spite. Work wants me to look "girly.". Part of it is impatience. Part of it is the fact the whole look still feels "new" to me. But mostly it's an old nervous twitch. I'd get nervous, and I'd fidget with my hair. I don't have hair, which gets me mad at myself, which makes me shave my head again as a punishment of sorts for trying to cut it to begin with.
If that makes any sense. )) |

((Ashton,
I really don't appreciate the condescending tone of your last post. I know my thoughts and reasons aren't the best; however that doesn't make then nonsense.)) |

I'm sorry, Caroline, it was meant to be in good humor, not condescending. My mother speaks in nonsense ways and I've learned to understand it and find the humor in it. Otherwise, she'd drive me more insane than she already does. But I assure you, I meant it in good humor. |

Sorry about being moody, and misreading your post.

It's quite alright, Caroline, I'm used to being misunderstood. No harm done, I assure you. |

Good luck Caroline. You are very capable and strong willed enough to do anything you set your mind to. |

((Well, only two more days and I'll have made it to day 100 of my no smoking adventure.
And... wow am I really jonesing for a smoke right now.
Ugh, it's weird. Some days I'm fine, and other days it's like I'm clawing at the walls due to a need of nicotine. I didn't realize I had this much stored in my fatty-tissues and liver... stupid liver. *points at liver* Detox faster!... yeah, that was a lot funnier when I said it aloud to myself, and made the pointing motion... in text... not so much.
Still, Bean says that I don't get the dress till I reach day 200 of not smoking... *pouts* I really want my dress.
Oh, Max, I'm not much of a sunflower / gum chewer kinda person. *shrug* I just find it... a kinda gross habit. Which is weird, as I love spitting watermellon seeds.)) |

Then maybe you should buy watermelon in bulk and spit seeds at passersby instead. |

Wait, it's been over three months and you're still suffering from withdrawl? |

It's said you never really stop smoking or wanting to smoke. A prime example: my mother smoked for years, even when she was pregnant with me, then stopped for my entire life. (at least, as far as I know) And now, within the past few months, she's started smoking again like she'd been doing it all along. It does'nt surprise me at all to hear Caroline would still have the craving. |

Yeah, you still have a craving, that's part of what addiction is. But the body's physical desire for more of the drug shouldn't last that long. It shoudn't take more than a couple of weeks for your body to flush it's system of (in this case) nicotine. The only drug I can think of which is more or less impossible to get out of your system is LSD and that's because it collects in your spinal fluid. One of the big problems with quiting smoking, as Caroline has pointed out, is that it becomes a habit. you're doing something, with your hands especially, while you're indulging and when you quit, and it's even worse quitting cold turkey, the sudden loss of that little fidgety action is suddenly one of the most noticible things. I'm just surprised that she still has the nicotine craving after so long. |

((I really don't know why i have it either, Xebulon, as it should all be out of my system.
Um... maybe it's like sex or something. When you have it, it's good. But when you don't... you always seem to want it. well... that sounded a lot funnier when I said it aloud to myself. I hope the humor made it through onto the text.
To Kiala:
Well, I have been eating a lot of blueberries and raspberries lately, which do help.)) |
