I just can't see it continue much longer. To me, it looks like the conclusion of the ball will be the finale of the issue, setting up issue 7 for what happens after, at the castle between Betty and the others, and with William and Mary, who are supposed to go into the town the day after the ball.
Another thing that makes me think that the ball is supposed to end in this issue, is that the number of pages was recently increased.

But that's just my guess. We'll just have to wait and see.

Okay, I think it happened a couple of weeks ago. At first issue 6 only went to page 29, and I personally couldn't picture how the ball could possibly be concluded in the issue, as it was around page 25 or so, and there wre still a couple of cameos missing.
The extra pages have just made me think that if the ball continued into issue 7, why the need for those extra pages, and why not just finish with the cliff hanger where Red tells Betty that he still intends to marry Mary? I also can't really imagine the ball lasting some 30 pages.

Then again, perhaps only the scene with Red and Betty will be finished with Betty running off crying and Red leaving depressed that he broke her heart, but he has to be strong for the sake of his dying father's last wish.

That's when a bit embarrassed Vanessa comes out in Issue 7 with, "Um, and now for something to cheer everyone up" and Bam! out comes gratuitous amounts of sex in issue 7. Laughing
