I know I haven't been around much lately, and I hope to remedy that soon (the fact that I'm posting anything now is just short of a miracle, really). But indeed, there have been many, many theories as to the relationship between Edel and Simon or Edel and Mary. I've always been a bit more suspect of the "Edelweiss is Mary's mom" theory than most... I suppose I just don't think it would be that cut-and-dry. Besides, I prefer having a bit of mystery to the story and characters, don't you?

BTW, to Kommy, if I'm one of the Great Old Ones, which one would I be?

*Turns on way back machine and looks at issue 3* Which I believe was when Vanessa started doing the royal member appearances. I know Kommy's fursona was once used in a background poster in one of the early issues. As for the status of the other earlier members that were in issue 3.

Anyway, theories are always fun to bat about. Frau Edelweiss, being the only female cat around, is a natural target for guesses on the female side of Mary's parentage. Unless you count Mystic, of course. But that'd be awkward. Having seen young Simon, I can certainly see much more of her father in her appearance. And I wonder how much of his personality may have trickled into hers. Besides the violence, of course. Razz

As for your question, Johnny... You'd be you, of course. You are a Great Old One, aren't you?

Perhaps I misunderstand, but it would seem to me that page 4 of issue 9, which I believe you are all talking about, actually proves that Edelweiss is not Mary's mother. From what is said, I inferred that Edelweiss has not yet been banished, but Mary's mother has, ergo Edelweiss and Mary's mother are not the same person. Though, as I said, perhaps I misunderstand.

Yeah, that's why I said perhaps I misunderstood - the words are up to personal interpretation. We will just have to wait and see.
