not exactly pertaining to PBB, but since this is the thread for asking Ronald questions...
I've seen some people post their gamer tags for XBOX live in the past, but I'm wondering if sharing this info constitutes a violation of the privacy policy, or if we're allowed to share gamer tags, friend codes, and the like over this site.
|
That is still very questionable. And people shouldn't be sharing their private information with others.
Its discourage. |

I was under the impression that personal details usually meant things like passwords, account details and home addresses. This is a very friendly forum, a community, a place where people make friends and sometimes those friendships grow strong enough where some of us want to keep in contact with each other outside of the forum. I see no reason why we can't be allowed to do such things. What's the harm in giving a friend my AIM screen name to keep in touch? It's not like we can't block those we don't want contacting us on such IM programs. |

What we don't want is people trading passwords and content using our own website as a means to do it. |

Well anyone who gives out their password is an idiot fullstop; there's no reason to do that at any time. As for content, I assume you are referring to membership content such as the comic pages? Most people on the forum already have an account here so there would be no point in sharing such content anyway. It's the ones that join and then post the pages on other sites that are the problem, not the few people on the forum that make friends and wish to keep in contact with said friends. Most people here seem to have at least half a brain in their head so I imagine they would be smart enough not to give out those pages to anyone else. |

no that is not true. most people on the forums do not have an account and can try to trade content with it. you realize that we have members who take the content and post it on other sites. so i wouldn't say people here all have brains in their heads.
how else do you think the content gets leaked?
let's just say that i am aware of some forum members here who have been trading content. |

I don't think I quite explained myself properly. But whatever; I'm not going to push the issue, I'm not trying to argue a case here. I was only stating my thoughts on the matter and intended nothing else. I can understand, to an extent, where you and your logic is coming from. But perhaps something can be worked out at a later time. I doubt that the 'leakage' will ever be solved fully, short of severely reducing the cost of the subscription (which even then won't get rid of the problem), but that problem is hardly sourced by IM programs. Those on the forum that have no account hardly need someone else on the forum to give them the pages. |

This is the forum rule.
http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6122
It has been posted on this forum before you joined, so anybody else want to question the decision, should have read the rules before head.
While, I know most people don't bother to read the rules, I'll point it out again.
We have too many members who have done the "poor me" or "i've been a member before, can you get me a page or two." and somebody who always feels generous comes to the heroic rescue of the guy who wants a page or two. It is not unlikely, that people who already have each others contact info (because of my poor moderation in keeping the private information from leaking), have probably been trading content presently.

I'm sure they already know of difference sources existing outside of our web domains to get that(content).
But again, having a forum here on the official site just makes it 'too convenient' for trading activities. I am I'm not going to provide an open forum for people to use it for such purpose. It just makes it harder for people to trade content. |

I'm not objecting to the rules, Ronald, I'm only voicing my thoughts. I am allowed to do that, aren't I? At no time have I said that the rule is wrong, or should be changed. Please don't take this the wrong way, I'm not trying to start an argument. |

The reason I say it's questionable is I'm also pondering over the community aspect. |

As I said, I can understand your point of view. I've said all I want to say, I have no reason to push it any further. |
