Aremis wiped his face on his sleeve, getting the snow out of his eyes. As he struck the wall with his axe, he looked up. Max had disappeared behind the wall of snow, and only traces of Silvador could be seen. He was encased in a white blanket, so all he could do was follow the rope upwards.

Alex continued to climb. He only looked at where he was going, never down.

Max could have sworn the sky was getting darker... And the snow was starting to... Rocks? Max was being pelted by little bits of broken up stone, and there was a dangerously big one blocking his vision.

"Rock Slide!!" he yelled as he hurriedly braced himself tight up against the wall of icy snow, hoping everyone would do the same to avoid the rocks.

"What!?" Silvador could only barely make out the warning as the wind whipped around his ears. Small rocks plummeted past, bouncing off his shoulders and backpack. He ducked his head down and tried to flatten himself against the wall in order to avoid being torn off with the falling rocks from above.

Aremis' ears perked up. What's going on up there he thought. He stopped climbing and looked up. Out of the white abyss came a wave of rocks. One of his hands was knocked off, swinging him to the side, hanging on one axe. "Watch out Alex!!" he shouted, struggling to hang on/pull his other hand up as rocks flew past.

Alex heard Aremis' warning. He looked up and a small rock hit him in the head before he saw larger ones start to come down. He pulled himself to the ice as quickly as possible.

The rock fell hard and fast, it hit them all pretty hard but Aremis the worst (Don't take it personally hah) and when it was over the ice was not as sturdy as it was, cracks started to appear and travel around the areas they had stuck their axes in...

"Fuck Shit! Hurry now!!" he could feel the icy cracks split as it threatened to break and send them all plummeting. with its unsteadiness their safety lines would simply rip out of the icy rock. they still had a bit to go to the closest ledge ahead.

Aremis was panting heavily. He needed to get to his other axe, before his pack caused him to fall. "rrrrraaaaa!!!" he shouted, swinging himself up. He missed, and swung back. He felt the axe move under his weight, and he knew he needed to get up fast. Aremis screamed again as he lunged upwards. The axe handles never felt so good in his hands. Aremis steadied himself, closed his eyes, and put his forehead to the wall. The ice began cracking around him, *hanf**hanf*"sh-sh-shit"*hanf* he said beginning to climb again.

Alex swung to one side and dug his axe in when he saw the ice breacking in front of him.

"We need to get to the ledge fast guys!"

Max hurried onwards, the ice was cracking all over and if they couldn't speed it up they would surely fall to their deaths.

Silvador increased his pace, digging his axes into the ice and pulling himself up. At one point, the ice split around one of the axes and it became loose. Silvador dropped several inches before the axe lodge in the crack; the panther didn't even noticed he'd caught his breathe until he started breathing again. Barely taking a moment to recover, he started climbing again.

Aremis climbed with desperation as the ice around him cracked further. His foot cause rocks below him to fall. If they didn't make it to the ledge soon, it would be the end for all of them. ((Maxwell should reach the ledge soon, just to move it along a little, just a suggestion))

Alex kept avoiding cracks in the ice. He knew they could break away so he was cautious. He looked up after a few rocks hit him in the head and couldn't see the others, so he picked up his pace and began climbing faster.

Max climbed rapidly, every second he delayed he would only put em all in danger of plummeting. As he reached the ledge he dug his axes in the top. the ice was melted here and there was solid dirt path for his axes. he pulled himself up and tugged on the line.

"Ok, it's sturdy enough up here! quick!"

Silvador still could hardly see. The air was filled with ice and snow blocking his vision. He followed the line upwards and eventually crawled over the edge, still following the line until he found Max.

"Well this is a great start to the climb, what's next?" Silvador shouted over the howling wind in a mock thrilled voice.

Aremis climbed faster and faster until he reached the ledge. The ice below him began to crack to a point where it could give at any point. Aremis climbed up and turned, "Hurry up Alex!!" he shouted, putting his hand out off the ledge

Alex heard Aermis shout so he pick up his pace, following the line untill he reached the edge. He dug his axes into the dirt and pulled himself up "Lets hope the ice holds out the rest of the way."

Max looked as they all made it up the ledge, he then gazed at the wall cracking until the ice fell apart and wrecked the scaling rope, they would have to find another path as the slant was now too steep for a descent climb back down. However Max was more concerned about reaching the summit right now than anything. the path they were on now led to the east and up. He reached back and tied his lines on the bag, then opened up his coat pocket and removed his map to view it.

"Right, everyone take out yer maps, see this ridge? were here, just did the first climb so next it's..." Max follows his finger on the marked lines. (Map)

"Uh, looks like up ahead are the tunnel systems. we just have to make it up the path and we should be sheltered from the cold once we're in the tunnel entrance" He said.

Silvador said nothing as he followed Max's directions on the map. Once their path had been pointed out, the panther rolled up his map and put it away before waiting for further instruction.

Alex quickly looked at his map then put it away. He looked towards they're next destination just hoping that nothing else bad happens.

Max then put his map away and put his hands to the wall of ice, leading them alongside it up ahead the icy path, they were about 5 stories up now.

"Awright, once we get in the tunnels, I want 2 of you to light your lamps."

silvador unhooked his lamp from the side of his bag and looked at it then frowned.

"Uh... One of those two won't be me; my lamp is busted. Must've got hit by some rocks in that rock fall." The panther said grimly.

Aremis now fished for his lamp unsure of what had happened to it. The coyote brought it out and said "scuffed, but it'll work"

Silvador adjusted his pack and followed Max into the dark tunnel.

Aremis lit the lantern, illuminating the entrance of the tunnel. The area ahead of the light was pitch black, so progress would be slow. Aremis adjusted the lantern so the light would give Maxwell room to maneuver in the dark.
