((Hey Gang,
Not much into the whole... fursuit kinda thing. Just not my thing one way or the other. To me, most of them look too... comical. And not like a good comical either, but... a creepy comical.
But... cosplay is kinda nifty-cool. Bean made me a Suiseseki dress which is abosolutely adorable. I kinda started it when I went to old AEG L5R tournaments.
And, watch out for Silvador... he tends to chase anything which gives him a moments attention.))
|
I think that's my problem.
I met a lot of furs at the convention i went to, and the best i saw were self made body suits and they self painted their faces. Lemme see if i can find a link, |

Oh? You've given me a moment's attention and I'm not chasing you. A lot of members on this forum have given me more than a moments attention and I am not chasing them.
I'm am in no way "chasing" anyone. I am doing nothing more than socialising, being nice and honest. Luna is an attractive person, why should I say otherwise? She is new to the forum and I am trying ot make her feel welcome by talking to her and RPing with her. Why should I do otherwise? Several other people are doing the exact same thing.
Would you prefer I be a secluded asshole who only pops in and out to abuse and insult people all the time? |

((Silv,
Well... I might believe that if I hadn't been here for as long as I've been. Pretty much you say the same comments to every new-girl on these forums. There is a big difference between being charming and being sincere. I really don't find you very sincere.
Anyway Luna,
Even the face-panting thing to me is... meh. Again, not really sure why. I've seen some gorgeous costumes that must have taken the maker years to make; however, the... fursona-esq costumes (whether facepaint, full-suit, ears/tails, etc) just... don't appeal to me.
I guess it's kinda like short people who try to cosplay Night Elves. Night Elves are suppossed to be tall... like... 2 meters or better. Short Night Elves just don't look right to me.)) |

I'm afraid you are going to have to elaborate, Caroline. In what way, at what times, have I been "recycling" my friendliness? |

BTW, I am sure you know of Spice and Wolf.
Bet you would be a smashing Holo!
(Dangles apple in front of Luna)
|
HORO! HORO! The name is HORO! It is pronounced with an R, not an L.
*rage*
|
Um, actually, it IS "Holo"
But since Japanese do not have an "L" in their language, they use "R".
That is why they say "Engrish"
The reason for Holo and not Horo is to make her name sound more foreign.
|
*slaps Eechiron silly* Have you actually watched the show with the Japanese voices? They pronounce her name HORO! Are you trying to tell me that the Japanese don't know how to pronounce THEIR OWN CREATION!?
|
Um, YES!!
It is EXTREMELY common for Japanese to give characters names they cannot correctly pronounce. Again, this is to make them sound forign, different, unique, alien.
Perfect example: Lum
(let me know if image does not load)
Atarou: Hehehehe

大好き!! (I let you figure it out, it is not hard )
Those to cosplayers did a great gob! They look cute together too.
BTW, that girl as Holo, she looks to be the same as this from the budget ears-and-tail seller.

((Eechironin,
You shouldn't double up on the "i" katakana sound. You should have a long dash after it.
Silv,
According to Yen Press, who has liscenced the release, the spelling is indeed "Holo".)) |

I don't give a fuck! The japanese voice actors pronounce it HoRo in the anime! There for, the proper pronunciation must be HoRo! |

No, seriously
It's an L.
They pronounce Television - Terebi , or something crazy like that. they litterally cannot pronounce their Ls.
The chinese cannot pronounce their Rs as well, and replace them with Ws.
Some cultures just cant |

Basically. the only way to explain it really simply, is to say.
There accent makes them unable to speak exactly how we do.
We can easily roll our Rs and Ls, to make it sound like their speech, but they unfortunately, cannot. |

Appealing to the primitive male caveman instincts in the form of scantily clad females, yes. No different then a lot what you see in advertising.
Silvadore, for you
