"Aye, the people there really love the candles they get. I heard them praise the very high quality of your work."

He finished the last of his croissant. "A friend of mine got me a job there when I first arrived. It was decent pay and a lovely place to be at."

The rabbit then pulled out a small amount of florins and set them on the table to pay for the meal.

She blushed lightly, giving him a smile, "I am glad to hear that my work is held in such high esteem."

Tilting her head slightly, she arched and eyebrow, "Is that so? I had considered it myself but my brother would probably have a heart attack."

Giggling softly, she stood as he laid the coins on the table for their coffee and croissants, "What would you like to do now?"

Leaf stood up from his seat and turned to Ginny. "Funny, I was going to ask you the same question. Is there anything in particular you want to do?"

Her ears twitched as she laughed, "I have nothing in particular planned today. Perhaps we could go up to the castle to try our luck in the casino or take a walk in the park."

"Hm... It is a lovely day out at the park. But it's been a while since I've gone to the palace." Leaf was in a quandary on what to do next. He dug inside his pants pocket and fished out a florin. "When in doubt, flip a coin."

He rested the coin on top of his thumb. "Let's see... if it's heads, we'll go to the palace. If it's tails, it will be the park. Is that all right?"

"Oui, it is a lovely day to be out but I have not been to the castle for some time either." Ginny purred softly while he tried to decide what to do, letting out a hearty laugh when he produced the florin, "Always a good way to decide."

"Oui, that is acceptable."

"All right, then... Here goes!"

With a flick of his thumb, the golden coin twirled into the air, shining brightly as it spun. Leaf held out his palm to catch the coin and see what the answer would be.

But before he could catch it, a loud caw could be heard. The rabbit looked up and saw a feral magpie suddenly fly above him and snatch the coin with its beak! With a cry of protest, Leaf could only watch as the bird flew off with its new prize.

"Wretched things," the rabbit grumbled to himself.

Ginny watched the coin spin up thru the air, then get caught by the bird before he could catch it. She began laughing hysterically, watching the magpie fly away clutching it's prize.

With the magpie becoming a mere dot in the sky, the rabbit suddenly heard Ginny laughing hysterically from what happened. Leaf looked over at the tigress and soon, he couldn't help but chuckle himself.

"Heh... What were the odds of that ever happening?"

Holding her side, the tigress gasped trying to regain her breath after laughing, "It seems you were the 1 in whatever the chances of that ever happening. Maybe your chances will be as good in the casino.....though that could also be an omen."

"Perhaps you are right, Ginny. Maybe we should go there today."
Still chuckling, the rabbit walked over to her and waited until she caught her breath before offering his arm to her.

"That sounds like a wonderful idea," she smiled at him. Taking his arm, she walked along with him, her tail swaying gently as they walked toward the castle.

Leaf led Ginny towards the Delight Palace, a smile upon his face. As the two of them walked, the rabbit stole a few glances towards the tigress. "I wonder what she's thinking about," the rabbit thought to himself.

Eventually, the two of them arrived at the palace, its majestic slender before them. He felt a little nervous on what to expect. With a small smile, Leaf led the tigress through the double doors.

Walking along with him, she purred softly, looking up at the palace a smile played on her features. She certainly seemed to be enjoying his company. "I'm going to try to spend more time with him. He seems to be very interesting," Ginny thought to herself as they walked thru the double doors.

Looking around the room, she flashed him a smile, "What is your game of choice, Leaf? I prefer blackjack, personally."

The rabbit glanced around the room, taking in the familiar sights. He began recalling his earlier days there, being a waiter thanks to a good friend of his. "Just like when I first got here... Has it been so long?"

He was brought out of his daydream by Ginny's voice. He looked over at her, noticing her beautiful smile. "Oh! Well, I'm quite partial to blackjack. Shall we find a table?"

Nodding, she looked around the room, "Oui, let's find a table."

Leaf glanced around the room, searching for a card table for the two of them to play. He then caught sight of a table being prepared by a skunette with black hair.

"Oh! There's one, Ginny. Let''s try our luck here."

She nodded quickly, winding her way to thru the room to the table. Taking her seat she handed over some florins to the croupier, "Give me 100 in chips, please."

Leaf followed Ginny towards the blackjack table, taking a seat next to her.
"One hundred florins in chips, please."

The rabbit handed his florins to the croupier, who handed them their chips. With a smile, the skunkette shuffled the deck of cards before dealing out the cards.

(I found a custom random number generator for the Blackjack table. Aces are 1 and the number cards are 2-10. Jacks, Queens and Kings are 11-13. So, which player will you be?)

Dealer's Cards: A 9 and a 2
Player 1 Cards: A King and a 2 (13 and 2)
Player 2 Cards: A 9 and a 4

Ginny looked at her cards, setting down a 5 florin chip, her tail and ears twitching as she thought for a moment. She had 13 (9 & 4) from her two cards. "Hit me."

The rabbit placed a five florin chip and glanced at his cards... A King and a 2.

"13... and the dealer has a two," Leaf thought. "I better be careful and not bust."

"All right... hit me, please!"

The skunette smiled as she deal a card to the two players, starting with Ginny.

(Player 1 Cards: A King, a two and a five
Player 2 Cards: A nine, a four, and an eight)

The rabbit then added the cards up and noticed he had 17. Not wanting to take a risk, he waved his paw over his cards and said, "I'll stay this hand."

Ginny watched as the dealer passed out the cards, hers being an 8 brought a smile to the tigresses face. She had a 21, only beatable if the dealer got a blackjack but that was not possible. The worst now was getting a push with her which she wouldn't lose nor win anything from. Spreading her hand over her cards, "I'll stay, merci."

The skunette flipped over her hidden card, revealing the total to be 11. She dealt herself a card, getting a three. She dealt another card and received another three, bringing her total up to 17.

[Dealer's Cards: A nine, a two, a three and a three (9+2+3+3)]

"Oh! Well done, Mademoiselle!" With a smile, the dealer gave Ginny a five florin chip. She left Leaf's bet alone and swept the cards up into a discard pile near her.

Leaf smiled at Ginny's good fortune.

"Merci, ma'amselle," Ginny smiled at the skunkette as she collected her winnings. Once the table was cleared she placed another 5 florins chip down for her next hand.

Leaf decided to keep his five florin chip on the table. The skunette then dealt the cards for herself and the players.

As soon as the cards were dealt, the rabbit analyzed the situation. The dealer's first card was covered by a King, while Leaf's cards were a six and a one. His ears twitched a little from what he saw.

Dealer's Cards: ? and a King (? and 13)
Player 1 Cards: A six and a one (6 and 1)
Player 2 Cards: An eight and a two (8 and 2)

"This isn't good... The dealer may have an ace under there."
The rabbit tapped on his cards before saying, "Hit me."

The tigresses tail twitched as the cards were dealt, seeing the dealer with a King to her 8 and 2. A tough hand to work but still not one that is not a total loss. Tapping her fingers against the table, she remarked to the dealer, "Hit me, please."

(Sorry about the delay. My hard drive broke down Friday and had to be replaced. I just realized that the 1's were meant to be aces... Silly me. XP)

The dealer passed a card to each of the players.
[Player 1 Hand: 6, 1, 1 (A six and two aces)]
[Player 2 Hand: 8, 2, 9 (An eight, a two and a nine)]

Leaf glanced down at his cards and saw the two aces in his hands.
"Let me see... An ace can be a one or 11, depending on the situation.. That means I got as low as an eight or as high as eighteen..."

The rabbit thought for a moment before he said, "I'll stay this hand..."

Ginny purred softly as she looked at her cards, her ears twitching toward her partner when he stays his hand. Seeing she had a solid 19, she knew it was a good hand to have, not unbeatable though if the house had another face card or 10. But the risk was too high to try to hit again and end up busting so she looked up at the dealer, "I'll stay this hand too."

As soon as both players stayed their hands, the dealer flipped over her hidden card... a four. With a flick of her wrist, she dealt herself another card, which was a ten. The total came to 24, which was a bust for the skunette.

[Dealer's Cards: A four, a King and a ten (4, 13, 10)]

"Oh! Looks like the two of you win, Misseur and Mademoiselle!"
She hands the two players five florin chips. With a little smile, Leaf placed his chips back into his pile.

"So," Leaf said to Ginny. "Do you want to play a few more hands or shall we try something else?"

Ginny watched the dealer flip herself another card, purring she smiled when she saw that the dealer had busted. Collecting her chips, the tigresses ears flicked toward Leaf. "Hmm, I can do whatever you would like."
