According to said I.M.D.B., Dawn of the Dead is Zombi in Italy and Zombi 2 is Ultimi zombi, Gli in Italy. These are direct quotes from I.M.D.B. so any grammatical errors should be chalked up to them. |

Cool, I remembered correctly.
As much as zombies creep me out, I love zombie movies.
Peter Jackson's zombie movie, Dead Alive, is actually funny too. Best quote from the movie is said by a priest shortly before he starts using kung-fu. "Stand back boy! I kick @$$ for the Lord!" |

Damn! I can't believe I missed out on a zombie flick discussion while I was out of town!
My picks for the best zombie movies are always comedies, including Dead Alive, Shaun of the Dead, and Evil Dead 3 (aka: Army of Darkness). All three have great lines, but the priest's line from Dead Alive is one of the best...

Now I've got one more thing to cheer myself up when I'm feeling low, all I have to do is either picture or come here and look at this picture. Thank you, Johnny and Xebulon. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again, watching a topic thread grow is truly an intresting site to behold. As for your advice, Johnny, I will, thank you. |

I love Army of Darkness! Other zombie flicks, as well, though sometimes I nitpick at the science if I don't watch myself. While I liked Shaun of the Dead, I just don't seem to love it like others. Maybe the British humour doesn't quite gel with me.
I also love the Resident Evil games. The Umbrella Corporation logo on my labcoat would probably draw a few stares if people saw me working.
And, uh... Dang, I can't even remember the original subject of this thread. Wish I could see the title above the typing entry box. |

The History of Xebulon Burke is the original topic of this thread, Dr.Fuchs, and you'll have to tell us the reactions of your co-workers if you decide to have the Umbrella logo on your labcoat. And I second Cesar's intrest, Carrie, though I suggest you post it in a new thread or in your "something from a phox" thread. |

The Resident Evil games were cool (though I'm still a big fan of Eternal Darkness). The Umbrella Corporation made great villains for the ongoing story to the series. Too bad I was never very good at them.
I must say though, the original plot idea George Romero had for his third zombie movie, "Day of the Dead", still gives me the heebee jeebees. To sum it up, instead of having just an underground complex with a handful of soldiers and military scientists vainly trying to study the zombies, he'd planned for a much larger scale operation. There was going to be an entire base turned fortress on the surface with a large research facility below it. Maybe a hundred humans and entire army of zombies at their command. I found the concept of humans catching and training zombies to hunt/kill/devour other zombies for the humans to be both fascinating and disturbing. I especially find the idea of zombies, coordinating with one another using military style tactics, armed to (what's left of) the teeth and trusted by the human soldiers to be downright unsettling. |

Yes, but then there would be the Zombie wages, Zombie strikes, and how long until they hold out for a holiday for all the wars they fought in? :p |

I just saw Hot Fuzz and i gota say thanks for the tip Johnny.
I would expect nothing less from the same creators and actros of Shaun of the Dead. But there is one line that always makes me laugh, said by Simon Pegg in both movies:
"Whats the matter?Havent you seen a short cut before?" |

yeah, that was a pretty good one, though I also noticed they used the same "Cornetto" joke from Shaun of the Dead as well... I'm just glad that those were really the only two gags in common between the two movies, I don't think Hot Fuzz would have been nearly as good if they kept making references to the previous movie. The references to Bad Boys II and Point Break were great, though... |

Yarrp! The great thing is that they used lines and gags from the other movie, while not entirely copying from their previous movie, just to remind their fans of Shaun of the Dead! |
