Unfortunately, life comes at you in a number of ways. Some good, some bad. There is no way for a person to be able to predict in which way it will come, but somehow you know it will be there when you least expect it. For me, tonight I was expecting to turn in my two weeks notice at work. The reason was because not only was going to the workplace distracting me from my classes, even though I was originally supposed to work on the weekends only. People in other shifts do a slipshod job of keeping the place neat before leaving, and the manager in charge of the other 3 managers is an arrogant ego trip who made doing my job all the more difficult despite my efforts to do it right. Somehow, I've worked as a busser in this restraunt for over a year. Now its at an end. Despite me giving nearly 24 hour notice that I would not attend work to be part of a funeral service for a dear friend, the manager in question (One of the others), did not relay this info, and from there, I was officially laid off.
I could and probably should feel angry and mocked for never even be called instead of finding out the moment I was supposed to be on shift. Still, I feel elated and shocked at the same time instead, especially since the one manager I do like happenned to be the one to tell me the news, as he was the one I knew always tried to help me with my work, since bussers in my shift rarely get anymore than a single person, but normally require multiple people to do it all. I am a fast worker, and I get alot of work done on my own, but even I can't work miracles, and I never complained because I was always eager to see it as a challenge.
I am still feeling the shock of it, so I will leave it at this: No matter how unfair this may be, I was'nt completely surprised at being let go, and I was going to put in my two weeks anyways. |

It is, but it is'nt. Like I said, I was intending tonight to put in my two weeks notice anyways, so its not that big of a loss on my part. Plus, it gives me more time to look for a better job anyways. |

Things are looking up. I will be working at the local UPS office as a truck driver's assistant and I will be starting late november.
I'll be getting my degree.
Plus, I will be able to look for a full time job. |
