I've been looking at some of these YCH auctions and pictures on Furaffinity. It took me quite a long time to figure out what YCH meant (Your Character Here)
Anyone have any experience with this? Either as an artist or as a buyer?
I was ondering if it was something Vanessa could do to support the site. I have no idea of how much work is involved, especially compared to a regular commission, so it's just a thought. |

I've bought one or two. If I had a lot more expendable money, I'd have bought a WHOLE lot more. Some artists come up with fantastic scenes and ideas/poses.
I imagine that a YCH isn't really much more effort than a regular commission. If anything, it would be a tad less. The pose and background (if any) is often already established, so all that is needed is to add the smaller details of the winning character and refine/finish the image as a whole.
As for Vanessa doing YCH auctions... isn't the whole comic a YCH? lol 
But, seriously, it would be interesting to know if they would be beneficial for the site, although I imagine it might be a step backwards since Vanessa would essentially be rebuilding the workload she has already reduced by ceasing the Custom Avatars and changing the art style of the comic itself. |

That's true. I really have no idea about how much work it would be for Vanessa. I'd hope that it could perhaps help PBB a bit, if people were showing off their commission or YCH pictures on other sites.
If I could draw like you, I'd be doing a lot of YCH auctions, featuring my own fursona. I'd find it a lot of fun never knowing which character would end up with Constance.
How much room is there for a character to be of a different size than the one shown in the auction picture? |

I could do it more often but since it takes a lot of my time it's a big project. (The higher the bid the more I work on the details.) And I don't always have the time or the energy for it. Plus my second YCH auction was a fail. Nobody bid on it and now it's a for sale piece. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15127695/
As for it character size it can easily be bigger/smaller/thinner or more muscles than the sketch. It's just a matter of getting the proportions to fit together.

| Since Vanessa just did commission work I don't see any difference between doing those and doing YCH's that might provide revenue for her and possible promotion of the site since the pics would be non canon anyway. |
