gotti - we jumped from 13,000 feet.

there was about a 30 - 45 second freefall, and about 4 minute canopy ride (main chute opened)

i couldn't believe how fast i was finished...

Pretty sick dude, I would love to do that some day. Although I would want to go on my own. Would they have allowed you to do so? Just because I would want to like flip around and do some crazy shit lol. The clouds look awesome to just how they're like mounds all over. It's amazing though how you see from high above looking at the ground like if it's just a giant quilt or something similar. You never would guess that's how it looks when on the ground, then you get way up there in a plane and everything is all like even squares and stuff. I've only flown twice, and wish I can again. Maybe for a "dinner" I might be able to soon |

hey zombie!

yes you can jump solo, but it is a bit more expensive, and a LOT more training ( several hours, as opposed to several minutes )

you could also go the route of achieving your license...

i have researched the process, and depending on the skydiving school, the price ranges from $500 to $1000. the course is pretty much the same for each school though : 10 jumps within a month - the first few are tandem w/ an instructor, the next several jumps are on a static line ( a line attached to the plane that automatically deploys your main chute upon exit of the aircraft ) but those jumps increase in altitude. the last few jumps are also increasing in altitude, but no longer attached to a static line - you must deploy your own chute. after the 10 jumps, and if the instructor deems you qualified, you will be a licensed skydiver. from that point, you can either rent or purchase your equipment, and then just pay for fuel to take you up whenever you want to go (usually a fee of $20 or so)

it is definitely an experience of a lifetime - even if you only do it once!! |
