I would like to bring to your attention the fact that any person, even without being logged in, can read the forums - anything. Now, aside from the matter of the spam threads filled with harmful links, I am worried about a reasonably big problem concerning me. Fact is, there is someone nosy I don't want to know that I am here. Couldn't the forums become a bit safer, and deny access to whose aren't currently logged in?
Otherwise, I'll need for a name change, and probably I'll fix my PBB character as well. If this is the case I would even like to know if it's retroactive so that my previous posts get fixed with the new name. I don't want really want to be busted over here - this certain person knows how to make big deals out of small things.
Thank you.
PS: posting this in the public thread so everyone can express their opinion - feelings - ideas on the matter anyone can get in and read what we write. |

I understand your point, though I don't personally have a problem with this forum being open to everyone. I tend to dislike forums that reuire you to register before you can even find out if it's a place you'd like to stay and take part in.
But being followed around between forums is something I try to avoid. I use different names most of the time, but I still wonder how difficult it would be, for someone who knows a little more about me, to look at what I've written about my interests, to figure out that it's me. But nothing like that has ever happened to me. |

Unless you have friends, family and aquaintances who will recognize your name here and your fursona description, I very much doubt you'll have anything to worry about. As for spam, just don't even look at them. Just wait for Ronald to delete it. He's very good at doing it quickly, too. And finally, if memory serves, if you change your board name, your previous posts are not carried over to the new name. It helps prevent confusion. If anyone knows better, please, speak up. And on a personal note, Taliesin, and with all possible due respect, you really should have considered the possibility of being identified here by the outside world when you chose your board name and fursona. |

Yep, I know, and it's my fault, actually. |

Didn't one of the Royal Members have his name changed?
As I recall, Ronald had to manually change each post to fix the name. So, with the large number you have, I don't know how possible it is. You'd have to confirm with Ronald. |
