There is a new Star Trek movie coming in 2009. Directed by J.J. Abrams. Judging from the pictures of the movie. It looks good, but I'll hold out until I see the first trailer which comes out with Quantum of Solace today.

I like who they cast for the characters, but I have this feeling about this movie, but I'm not quite sure what it is.

Has anyone else seen the images and followed the movie?

Ok, I clicked on the link, and as I'm getting my dose of spoilers, one in particular catches my eye, and I laugh my balls off.

looks promising, but I was happier when the made a movie after the last movie of star trek say 10-20 years later with the old enemies of star trek together.

I don't think that this is the real movie design of the NCC-1701, the red caps for the warp nacelles are missing Smile

but IF this is supposed to be the old Enterprise I'm a bit dissappointed, it looks too new for me.

It looks very good. And yes, the design that everyone is seeing online for the new Enterprise is the official one. Just by looking at the trailer.

I saw the trailer earlier and I'm excited.

Sylar as Spock looks great.

And Eric Bana as the Romulan villain Nero looks good. Even though Rob Orci and Alex Kurtzman are saying he may not be a Romulan at all. Confused

Chris Pine looks like he will make a good Jim Kirk and if you watch closely enough during the trailer; you see him wearing the almighty Gold Shirt.

Hmm I can't help it but this movie seems to me like a complete new kind of Star Trek. The "old" 1701 looks too new for me *g* and it looks like there's a lot of action in it (at least what I have seen in the trailer). Zach Quinto looks great as Spock, I'm not sure about the others, but I definately will watch it.

J.J. Abrams said that he wanted to show a complete new kind of Star Trek movie, I'm very curios if the rest of the movie is as good as the trailer *g*

It looks good, but are the acteurs and the story also good?

Well, as J.J. Abrams is the creator of Lost, I think we can expect an interesting plot. Wink
