other than being royal member and 6 months of course?
also the currency in the comic is florians? I forgot but is it a real currency? and in what country is it used? |

Vanessa sometime choose to make avatars appear in the comics when it suits her.
I had the honnor to appear in the comic before my avatar even had been done, because I found a place ripping off Vanessa's comics.

I am the blue vixen in Issue 6, page 19-20. Plus vanessa is working on mine now. (Look in the "Work in process" gallery)
And about the games and strip tease. The games is Vanessa's idea,s but the strip tease is something we can vote about, when Vanessa has given us some girls to choose between. |

I noticed you asked about florins. The name has been used for various different coins in different countries at different times. At the time when Bon Bon is set, there was a coin called a florin in Britain; I believe there may have been other places as well. |

I am fortunate/unfortunate enough to remember the old British currency.
Farthing = 1/4 of a penny
1/2d= penny=hapenny
1d= penny
3d= thrupne-bit
6d= sixpence, real silver was used before 1946
shilling or bob = 12 pennies
florin = 24 pennies-2bob
half-crown = 2 shillings + sixpence
crown = 5 shillings
10 shilling note = 120 pennies
1 pound note = 240 pennies
5 pound note [which was white, about A5 size
Guinea [gold coin] = 1pound+1 shilling |

Hello Kiala. I think this is my first time responding to you.
For the most part, Vanessa decides who's in the games at her own whim. All of us in the Christmas Contest didn't know we would be put into games, that we would just be in pin-ups. Sometimes, she takes pages and images alot of people respond on and turn them into the puzzle game or send them to the X-ray pages.
As for the Strip Tease. There are 3 candidates, usually background characters of Vanessa's making, but twice she has let a royal member try their luck, and both royal members have been voted to the stage. Jillian has taken the stage, and Kommy is on deck for the stage now that Jillian's performance is over. Vanessa once mentioned I might even be able to take the stage, but we'll see what happens.
I'm sure she'd rather see one of the twins take the stage over another Royal Member, as they've both been in the running for sometime now. |

I've heard the term Guinea before. Mostly in pirate talk and movies.
Speaking of, what about a "Piece of Eight?" |

A "Piece of Eight" was the old Spanish dollar of the value of eight reals, which its self was a small silver coin. I am sure that it goes back even further, to a large Spanish Gold coin which had a pattern stamped on it that allowed people to cut it in to eight smaller pieces of lesser value. though this may be erroneous. There is also the Doubloon, again a large Spanish coin though I believe it was no longer accepted currency, worth only its gold value in 1896.
The guinea is still in use, though not in general use. They can be purchased and collected, but not accepted in shops. A curious throw back is the more high class galleries and auction houses still use the term guinea for pricing a item of great worth. |

With Europian trade going back centuries you are probably right. Many Europian countries have had coins called 'Florins'. It may well be that being a city of commerce, minting its own coins, that coins of certain value became known as a 'florin' no matter what is origin.
I believe the 'crown' in old British currency was refered to as a 'Half Dollar'. Though I am sure it had nothing to do with the exchange rate. |

You'll find it common place for members to share information and facts when they can. It helps to keep things from being all sex and pie fights around here. |
