Im new to the PBB community, and thought I should introduce myself. I’m not really a furry, and am unfamiliar with the community, but I am a fan of erotica, the victorian age, good art, and roleplaying, and this seems to be the place to be for all of that!
Though Im not a furry, after lurking a bit, I figured it would be appropriate to come up with an avatar, so meet Roy:
Name: Roger “Roy” Gilligan Bivhowitz
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Species: Peacock
Nationality: American (Philadelphian)
Occupation: Bachelor, heir
Appearance: Roy’s body plumage is a dark indigo. His six tail feathers span the colors of the spectrum (across) with a white “eye” in each one. They are retracted and pointed downward most of the time, but can be unfurled on command.
Background: Through the nineteenth century, the Bivhowitz family earned a vast fortune through the creation and acquisition of telegraph lines and newspapers across the country. As Roy approached his 20th year, his father gave him a portion of the family fortune and sent him out to sew his wild oats before he had to settle down and take over the family business. He planned an extensive trip around the world, but ended up boarding the wrong train early in his journey and ended up in the town of Bonbon. He fell in love with it and decided to stay until the money he had was spent up, and he would be forced to go back home.
Personality: Roy feels entailed to the finest things in life: art, food, clothing, entertainment, women, just because he can afford it. The idea that something wouldn’t have a price is strange to him (if something were denied to him, he wouldn’t be upset. just confused) Despite his spoiled demeanor, Roy certainly isn’t selfish. He is happy to spend money on his friends, and always insists on picking up the tab and tipping handsomely.
Sexuality: Straight. Somewhat naive, not yet sure what he likes and doesn’t like, but up for trying new things.
So, there you have it. My first anthro character. Lets hope I can keep up. |

Thanks. I came up with the backstory, but wasn't sure what kind of animal he should be. And then I saw this and just had to go with it. |

100% Agree with Mr. Tursi!
Don't even have a second thought, Mr. Roy. Your specie choice is very unique and I like it. :3
I was ruffling your feathers up. |

Though, you would be smart to keep an eye on your feathers and an eye out for clothes with peacock feathers in them. They might just turn out to belong to someone you know. |

Greetings, Sir!
Since the male peacocks are the ones with the bright plumage, I can't help but think it could lead to some confusion...
Wolf: Well, hello, Madam, lovely evening, eh? *wink wink*
Peacock (male): Excuse me, sir, but I don't swing that way!
Wolf: Wow, boy is this embarassing... *pause* Why do I still feel disappointed?
Peacock: I get that a lot... |

Good example, Chaos. :3
It makes me think of the males in BonBon would ask Mr. Roy how he attract the females. Then, without saying a word, he spread his beautiful feather like a rainbow and almost all the girls in BonBon rush over to him admiring or mesmerize his looks. |

It's how most animals with sexual dimorphism work... it's usually always the males that are more colorful or have the most "decoration" on them, to attract picky females. In the human world, peacock feathers are the equivalent to a shiny new sports-car.

Indeed so, Johnny. It's the males who almost always have to work for, compete, and possibly fight to receive female attentions. Unfair? Maybe. But sometimes fun to watch from my end.
Oh, and hello there, Mr. Biv. |
