Like henk, my grandmother has been struck by a stroke, and on her 94th birthday today, no less. Some present...

I'm about to go with my aunt to take her to emergency, but this appears to be nearing the end...

She is having trouble remembering things suddenly, like the time of day and where the dining room of her retirement home is...signs of stroke.

<sighs>

Still, if it is her time, she's a remarkable woman, born in 1914 3 months premature, survived breast cancer, a previous stroke, and was relatively upwardly mobile and still lucid until about 6 months ago.

is very sad to hear, seems there's a fair bit of bad news about these days, it sounds as though she has had a long and remarkable life my best wishes go out to you and your family in your time of crisis mate

Some good news, she didn't have a stroke, it was low blood sugar. My grandmother has apparently lost the sensation of hunger, so she simply wasn't eating, which was compounded by the fact that she wasn't taking her medication with food. So, the hospital gave her a clean bill, and she now has to keep food with her and eat regularly to keep her strength up.

Sounds like you've got a tough old bird for a grandmother. Those are the best kind. I'm very glad to hear she's alright after all. I'm also very sad to hear you were laid off. The first thing I suggest you do is have some fun and celebrate your newfound freedom. Then, after you regain conciousness, you can start looking for a new job.

Geez. I'm combing through these things due to time limits, but it seems the Royal and beloved members are dropping like flies around here.

I hope the best for you Gantros. Remember you have plenty of folks here to lean on for support.

I can't recall, are you on FA yet Gantros? If so, you can always toss me a note there. I can get on it at work and try to keep my replies fresh and hasty.

I'll certainly add you to my list of prayers to go out.
