Many of us... faceless ones are usually twittling our thumbs, praying the 6 months pass quickly so we may get that nice custom avatar. I know personally, I'm being a little too hopeful that the 7* avatars in front of me are done by Nov. 22nd, though I know they won't be. Still, there are many kinds of countdowns. What are you counting down for?
*There are more than 7 fursona requests in front of me, but 3 or 4 of them have <40 posts and would not likely fit the "active" requirement for the custom avatar. |

It took 10 months for my avatar, and 14 for a cameo. The results of both were well worth the wait.
But I understand what you're saying. Getting my avatar drawn by Vanessa was a pretty important part of why I joined in the first place. It can feel like a long tiem to wait, especially when there are so many people waiting for an avatar of their own, but there's unfortunately only so much time that Vanessa can devote to custom avatars each month.
I'm not sure if I have a countdown as such, but there are a couple of things I'd love to see in the future. One is simply to see a nude picture of my fursona. That would be so hot, and I'm rather curious about how Vanessa will draw certain details that have so far been hidden from view.
Another is the day when I can finally tell Vanessa that there's a character I'd like to see in a sex scene with my fursona.
It's not something I spend a lot of time thinking about, though. When it's time it's time, I guess, and there are so many other things here for me to enjoy. |

Hehe... The story behind mine was quite humorous to me. I actually received the cameo very early on. Probably like the fourth one in the comic or so. However, the actual avatar portrait took a good deal longer for dear Vanessa to create. I think it was something like another 6 months unless my memory is failing again.
In fact, if you look at the little picture on the post I am writing and the portrait in the four aces suite, you'll see they aren't the same. The pose and hairstyles are different. I think it was hastily created from the cameo art.
Just be patient. Things eventually work out in their own weird, circuitous ways. |

I didn't mean to sound impatient. I understand quite well that Vanessa's plate is usually at a point of overflowing. In all honesty, I'll be happy if I get my avatar before my birthday, which is 6 months from tomorrow. The one thing, however, that I currently hold almost no patience for is my computer. 2 problems I've had with it so far. First, there weren't enough plugs on the power supply to give power to all my devices. Then I couldn't get a signal on my monitor. After a long troubleshooting/diagnostic period, I've concluded it's either the RAM or my motherboard. Seeing as to how the motherboard was previously owned, I've decided to buy a brand new one and see how it works out. Both the new power supply and motherboard should be waiting for me when I get back from class.
EDIT: It appears that when I got frantic and worried over the new computer not starting up, I failed to notice a small power connection on the motherboard, near the power supply and almost completely under the rear case fan. The little connection I had overlooked was a crucial one. It was the connector that gave power to the CPU. Now remedied, I am happy to report I'm posting from said new computer, up and running with Windows 7 Professional (Got it for free through college!). |

It appears someone's a fan of Homestar Runner. Though what relevance that has to this topic I do not know. Nor can I fathom why one would post it across several threads |

Simple, Xebulon. He's probably a spammer, so it's best to ignore him and wait for the admins/mods to take care of it. |

although i do anticipate the day when Vanessa brings Alexi to life, i would totaly understand if she diddnt. Ive been wondering how shes making the schedual of the comix, the various projects she has started up, and still have time to support the fanbase. Seems like alot for one person to take in, and that doesnt cont in the fact that she has a life outside of Bonbon, as well as probably a day job. How she finds the time to juggle all of this i have no clue, but all i can do is offer my support.
The day might come where Alexi jumps out and makes his appearence, but she has so much on her plate to deal with right now. id just be happy to see this site grow, and her artistry evolve.
my only countdown is for this month when i can cast aside the mantle of passerby and call myself a loyal member. |

It tends to be a big reason why many are here, besides the "came for the sex, stayed for the story" that I'm sure plenty of us will admit to.
I do fear that some folks are here ONLY for the avatar. Which is fine, you're helping the site with your membership, but a part of it was working here in the forum. |
