Hi I just picked this topic because I'm posting this at 4 in the morning!
Has anybody ever suffered from insomnia?
If anybody has I could use some tips on how to get rid of it! Laughing Laughing Laughing

* drinks a Red Bull & a Monster*
"what is "insomnia"?"

I've been plagued by insomnia ever since my dad killed himself 2 weeks ago. Its kinda hard to sleep so I just stay up and watch HULU or TV and monitor the PBB forums till I fall asleep( usually around 4-6am)
But Its starting to get better on its own, I guess you just need to ware yourself out doing something then get to bed before you have time to get your energy back.
It works for me...... sometimes

A hard blow to the head would also work.

I guess sometimes its so hard to fall asleep that you have to take critical measures!
Or maybe just relax and try to start dreaming!
Although to think about it when I wake up sometimes I don't really remember what I just had a dream about! Confused Confused Confused

Wow. I'm not the only one who isn't insane with insomnia here. Some nights I just can't sleep because, I'm having so much posting on here. Especially on the RPs I'm part of. Also Maybe me and you could have that RP thread Mr. Dallas. *nudges against and nuzzles*

I'm almost about to fall on the ground because of my lack of sleep!
I strongly suggest that nobody tries to gat up at 9 in the morning after only sleeping three hours! Shocked
Its horrible specially if you have to drive to the grocery store to food!
I hope nobody has done this its painful!

Great... My insomnia's starting up again. Well at least it will give me time to think up a plan for the RP now.
Well mine has done that long before, and then I've stayed up for the entire day. So, its fine for me anyways.

No time to dream when you're making up a dream fantasy! Laughing
I usually spend more with friends than I do sleeping!
At least I don't get bored! Laughing
But than again I am always the first one to call it a night! Wink
Or I just end up with sleeping on a sofa with drawings on my face!
And I really hate when my friends draw make up like drawing on my face and than start laughing as soon as I wake up!
Its funny most of the time but not if you're tired!
Either way I laugh really hard after I look at myself in a mirror! Laughing Laughing Laughing

Ahh, Okay. I just wish some people I try and talk to late night would not reject offline messages through any of the instant messagers, especially on AIM. Dude just either be away or let me talk to you! (Stupid "IRL" friends.)

That the spirit!
Party all night long!
Or so I wish! Very Happy
Or just watch a movie at home or something similar! Cool
Either way If one can't sleep one might as well have fun during the time awake!
Or so I think!
Hehe, but that provably would not be very healthy! Very Happy

Well ironically enough, the guy hardly spends anytime on his computer, but when he does he acts like such a true friend. I just feel for the guy, hes both on the west coast of USA, and hes in the military. So I don't blame him. One thing I've done to keep me up is to either watch a really scary movie, or play a really scary horror game. A great example Dead Space. Either the prequel movie or the game itself. It kept me up and paranoid through my finals at school. As well as Bioshock in some moments of tension against any enemies.

Haha, me too, when I watch scary movies I just rather stay up because don't want to have a really creepy nightmare!
Although to be very honest I haven't the slightest idea of what my last dream was about!
Has anyone experienced that before or is it just me!
I hope not! Confused

Definitely... Its the worst when you wake up covered in sweat, then finding out, you can't remember a damn thing... Makes me just want to bonk myself in the noggin. This ole greymatter has its strange times. Boy is it a fun ride sometimes.

Hehe, tell me about, there was this one time during the winter a long time when I went to bed after watching a scary and the next day I woke with my face all sweaty and my clothes feeling really moist!
It was a horrible experience and the worst part of all its that I caught a cold just a few minutes after that!
I really don't like waking up in the morning and finding myself all wet! Mad

Hmm... my "rank" changed I'm not a "total noob" anymore!
I wonder why they decided to use noob!
Hehe... I'm sorry I kind of got distracted because of that and got off the topic! Embarassed
Anyways, back to the not sleeping business, I sometimes wake up feeling that I'm still dreaming!
Has anyone experienced that before?
I provably have done so tons of times! Smile

I've never woken up and thought I was still dreaming, but I've woken up inside a dream. That is, in the dream, I've become aware that I'm asleep and dreaming. An experience I would imagine is just as strange. Oh, and your rank changes depending on the number of your posts. At least until you become a Royal Member and recieve a Custom Avatar from Vanessa. Then your rank permanently changes to Royal Member of BonBon.

Hehe, cool!
And I have to say that has happened to me too!
When I was a child I use to sometimes become aware of myself dreaming and this would usually cause my dream to end with me waking up!
It felt really weird when this kind of thing happened but unfortunately on more recent days this hasn't happened anymore!
Or maybe it was but I provably forgot about it!
I can't seem to remember what my dreams are about after I have actually slept a little bit!

No Slumber For My Restless Soul
(By me, A. Briano C.)

There I am seeking through my room
seeking through the night,
a cure that I cannot find while wasting time
and finally seeing the morning very bright.
I cannot sleep as I continue
and I see I cannot rest,
but faith I have that one of this days
I shall find the cure to this inhuman test.
And finally find the slumber
that I so longed for so long,
without wasting my time and knowing
of all the people I live among.
Will I rid my mind of this sickness
that for so long conquered my spirit,
or shall my needed slumber
ever find its way so finally I can receive it?

Nice poetry man, I probably couldn't do anything like that if I tried. But as for the insomnia, try to solve any possible stress or emotional problems and try to wear yourself out with exercise before you try to sleep. Don't stay up throughout the night though, when I had it I tried that and couldn't get any sleep for four days.

Thanks and the exercise idea sounds great and I like to exercise now and then!
Come to think of it after I exercise I usually feel more relaxed, tired but relaxed!
And I like running too!
Hehe, thanks again, nobody ever really had appreciated my poetry!
But then again I never really showed to many people! Very Happy

Hehe, since sometimes I can't sleep and don't have anything to do at night I might as well start writing my poems, at least that would be productive!
And I might even write so many that I can actually make a book out of it!
Who knows really that is just a dream! Very Happy

Well, one thing that my doc recommended if you can't sleep is to do something. Such as read a book. just don't watch tv or go on the computer, those will actually keep you up, for some reason. but if you read a book, you'll get tired pretty quickly. When you start to feel tired, try going to sleep. if you still can't fall asleep after twenty minutes, get up again and continue reading. and repeat.

It's actually helped me fall asleep fairly quickly, even if I'm not tired.
