Ok, as of now, I have neither the motivation nor the skills to do much of drawing anymore. A long time ago, I actually used to enjoy drawing for the sheer pleasure and for the fun of it. Up till now, since around 2005-2006, I drew this picture which was my best work. Its basically what my assignment in an art class using perspective from an object or a person's overview so that it looks like you are looking from a slight angle. This is the result.
FYI, this was the first character I ever actually called Syser, later to be called Runai.
Hino, a maiden of the wind whose eyes has known nothing of the beauties surrounding her.
Rowan Oak, which was actually one of my first ideas for an old fanfic cannon of Love Hina. Sorry about his left eye, I realized too late how it slanted too far and now he looks crosseyed.

It's really good, I hope you find your muse again 'cos it's a shame to waste talent like that. |

Thanks guys, it was a style that I picked up from the guy who taught me, at least in terms that the "How to Draw Anime" books could'nt really cover. |

((Well Rune174, for what it's worth, that is very stylish. Reminds me of the InuYasha series.)) |

Actually miss Caroline, my main inspirations were both Naruto and Inuyasha when I drew it. Thank you though for your comment, its my best work that I could make that was actually passable. Took me a few weeks though. |

((Rune, what used to inspire you? I can't draw worth a lick, but... I can write decently. So... I do my best to write. If nothing else, I do it to challenge myself. A lot of rookie writers use vision as their primary means... but you have four other senses on top of that. So, I challenge myself to try to use other senses as equally... sound... taste... touch... smell. All of those are trickier to describe in text, but give a fuller immaginary setting if used.
I'll post story-thoughts and whatnot here to see if I can craft an image in someone's mind of what's going on... and maybe to help bring Bon Bon to life for others. I don't know if it works or not, but... I try. I like to write. It's an outlet for me that is actually kinda productive.
So... anyway, what used to inspire you? What if you just practiced on still-life, or everyday events... or just sketched stuff you've drawn before to see how your own style has changed.
As I said before, I kinda liked your shinto-priest looking guy... it also kinda helps I like InuYasha, but still. It would be a shame to just... let all that ability get boxed up.
And... that's about as close to compassion as I can get. You know what, Rune174, this is kinda weird. I'm not terribly good at doing the whole "cheer-up" rally speech kinda thing.)) |

Well Caroline, its like this: when you have alot of free time as I did when going through high school, there was alot to look forward to, and alot to dread. I guess since my grandma was a controlling figure, I only knew some basics with drawing that was stifled by her presence (Like as if somebody was always breathing over my shoulder) My drawing came from those conflicting feelings..... but in the long run, it was sort of an outlet for me on two different fronts.
The first came from my desire to actually socialize for a bit, since I have had mostly a boxed up childhood and since I started high school at the same time as moving away from her with my sister and dad, it gave me a reason to stay out of the house. The second came from my interest in drawing anime. I know it sounds corny, but in a sense, my primary anime that used to be on the Adult Swim *which sucks now *cough*, it was alot, and yet seems so little now.
My two favorite characters that really inspired this drawing was Miroku and Sasuke from the Naruto and Inuyasha series (Such a shame that they never completed the Inuyasha show). I just often found myself in the cafeteria at times just drawing figures and poses with stick figures, and when my friend saw how good I was with that and clothing, the only real thing was drawing the head and perspective drawing (I still have some trouble in that department)
Anyways, its not that I don't have the talent for it anymore, so much as I feel like there is enough time at the present now that college is beyond the horizon. I still appreciate everyone's kind words, especially yours Caroline. I should try the writing thing again, I have just as much talent in that department, especially since I have had about 3 different unpublished novels that I submitted in high school. Fortunately, they did allow me to print one for the library that actually placed third in the creative fiction category. |

You know what? You are right. I have to apply the talents I do have. If god gave me a talent, I should at least use it. |

No need to be sorry, I'm just being calm. I hate getting on anyone's bad side. |

Moving it back on topic,
Rune that's an amazing display of artistry. I'm glad to hear that you've decided to continue to draw.
I've found that there are times in a very busy schedule where you want to take a break for even just ten minutes. That would be the perfect kind of break. It's an outlet for whatever emotions you have at the time and its something to do. |

Exactly. I find drawing relaxing, but I never put any of my drawings online. |

Yeah, but it can be a very enjoyable one too if you have the knack and patience. |

Well, a wise person once told me that anyone can do anything. They just need a push in the right direction. |
