No no no. I'm not trying to kill myself. It's what my friends and I refer to any wall that is connected to a set of steps. Something like this:

Eh, there are better traceurs out there. Not to mention I'll have to train twice as hard for all the days I'm gonna miss, being in a cast and all.

Impressive stuff, and I learned a new term. Now when the kids say "suicide wallrun", I know what that is. Wink

Looks like fun, actually Wink

I was thinking about it, and I had a question.

I know from basic training that you can run straight UP a wall, using your forward momentum as traction.

But running along a wall like that.. what keeps you against it? Is it the same concept, and you have just a couple of seconds to make it, or do you push upwards more than out, or... what's the trick? Wink

Well, in this case the wall isn't perpendicular to the ground, so the wall run is a bit longer. Anyways for an upward run your kinetic energy is only needed to keep you against the wall, so the faster you go, the better you keep yourself against the wall. What really matters is the jump before the wall run. For an along-the-wall run you ever have to approach the wall with a good angle (45 degrees should be the best), but in this case your inertia is used of either the "grip" on the wall and the forward run (about the 70% of your inertia is used of each of these two). Approaching the wall with a faster speed will only harden the first step on the wall, unless you approach the wall with a shallower angle (ex. if you approach the wall 1,5 times faster you will need just 30 degrees and for 2 times faster just 20 degrees). But these are just numbers... Wink

I hate Physics. You are one Crazy man but my god you are brilliant. I wonder if some of the Douche bags you see doing that stuff take that into account.

Max, you know, those are just useless numbers. It's just a demonstration of why it works like this. I do hate physics too, but I had to learn it for my "job". Of course this is just a damn wall run, even if you approach the wall with an angle of 45, 30, 20 degrees or else. And what if you're not gonna succeed? Are you gonna blame physics? Laughing Wink

Well I was kinda talking about the guys who land on their faces anyway.

(Darn, I should have put a smiley face at the end of my last post to subdue any unintentional aggressiveness)

Dragonfly of course you don't need sines, cosines and square roots to do this "little" stunt. There are too many variables to consider that make a calculation kinda useless. Meaning, if you're able to do so, do it, else is better to get tips from someone else's work. Could be useful the approach angle if the wall surface isn't suitable? The best thing is to do it by someone else Laughing

Thanks Niki90.

Personally I like physics, and it was my question, so I didn't mind the technical answer. Wink
