*blinks. Catherine didn't expect that. She was thinking that she would deflect the apple with the fan.*

It is impressive... but I always though that fan where used by asiatic officer to make signal to their troops. I didn't know that you could use them as weapon. China truly have an impressive culture.

George chuckles softly at Catherine's comment, "I try to stay in her favor though at times she has shown me her vindictive side too."

He nods politely to Lucian, "Good evening, sir, you were right that the tables were being generous. I walked away with a fair bit of winnings."

Nodding again to Lin, he chirps softly, "It is a lovely place if you know where to go and have a good guide."

Stepping back, he watches the display of Lin's skill as she neatly slices the apple, applauding, "Very nicely done."

Snapping the fan open once more, she gazed at it lovingly, then closed it and once more placed it where it had been.

"I learned it from a friend of my family. I had seen him use it one morning and he saw me watching, then asked if I wanted to learn and so he taught me," she chuckled and looked at the apple pieces and held her hand out to them to see if any would want any of the pieces.

"Some fans can be used as signals, some as props, and as you saw, some as weapons. The lady fan is designed to look simple for a lady to carry and make her look helpless...until she pulls it out and uses it. I took quite a few hits to the head with apples before I was finally able to do what I just showed."

A grin spread across her lips as she heard the pleasing comments. Soft purr drew from Lin as she gave a bow to them, but she looked towards Max first.

"Only the first few times, then I got used to them hitting me and learned to either duck, jump, or slash."

She chuckled and turned her gaze towards Lucian.

"I'm not much of a sensei, but if you wish to learn, I could do my best to show you simple moves. When I was learning, my sensei saw that I moved as if I were dancing and had taught me that way, so the fan became like a simple, but deadly prop."

Lin's ears flicked forward with Max's comment and she returned his smirk with one of her own.

"I'm sure you're light on your feet as well twinkle-toes when you're in the ring," she said and turned to Lucian. "I will warn you, I do not know how to use swords, just the shukusen. I was never one for a sword."

All the casual talk about swords had Max a little alarmed, he was always a little hesitant about even Sword swallower's.

"So Linyue, where are you all headed right now?"

He gazed at the group with a bit of a smile.

To my house of course. She is new and needs a home and I owns few flats that I will be happy to rent. Afterall, we don't build a prosperous restaurant in a single day.

Lin nodded as Catherine said where they were headed.

"She was kind enough to offer the room and I will not turn it down. It will be someplace to sleep and be till I am able to pay for a place of my own," she said, but chuckled as Max took his leave.

Turning her attention to Lucian, she nodded.

"If you wish, you may."
