I tried to find something about it. At least in italian the word that qualifies somebody who solicits and accepts payments for sex acts is a gendered word, prostituta for the feminine and prostituto for the masculine gender, very similar to the english prostitute even though it's genderless. So a male should be called prostitute however. I don't know if there is some slang that qualifies better a male prostitute, that's what I found. Hope it's useful. Wink

Yep, the term for women also applies to men. Out in hollywood by me there's male prostitutes.

An "Escort" is someone who's more in the form of being a date for public although now it's more of a haven for underground prostitutes. And even men can be escorts as well, a woman I once loved actually was a male escort manager and told me all about it. Of course the men do earn less than a woman can.

A polite term for such a female would be courtesan. in French courtisane, in Italian cortigiana. It means 'Lady of the Court', from a time when a King or queen would have a number of folowers and advisors around them most of the time. The Ladies of the court would be daughters of high ranking families sent to the royal court to act as companions to the ruler. But in reality they were used both by their families and others to gain political favors and influence with the king/queen perhaps even becouming their mistresses.

One term I am quite fond of was created by author Terry Pratchett:

Yep, I like the term Courtesan. In a story I once wrote I had an immortal queen and she had three girls that were called her Courtesans and they were used to persuade male prisoners and each one was a different theme. I had a sweet innocent girl, an grecian goddess and a nympho mistress. Depending on what they knew about you, one of them was sent to your room.

However, the courtesan is a very polite term, maybe even too much. Nowadays could be not so easy to find someone that understands courtesan as a prostitute. Wink

There aren't any male prostitutes at the Delight Castle, if that's what you're asking about. I really doubt that there are any at all in Bon Bon, as the nature of the comic really doesn't make it seem likely, but that's of course just my personal opinion.
