Of all the things I can do in my infinite free time, few of them are ever of a fruitful pursuit. I spend a lot of time playing MMORPGs, the latest chapter in this addiction being Earth Eternal, others have included Guild Wars and Wizard 101.
Yesterday was perhaps a big wake-up call. Spending about 8 hours of time with the wife watching TV may seem like a lateral movement, but it was actually more than that. We were able to snuggle together and get close and just all out have fun being with one another. The norm has become me droning over the computer while she sits in the bed watching TV.
I've always been able to break my playing to perform tasks essential to me, house work, homework, etc. Still, I feel like I need to keep the gaming to a healthy level and less of an addict's one.
Laugh at me if you will, I don't care. I've been studying the impact of the internet on development and have found that people addicted to online games exhibit tendencies similar to other addicts and I really don't want to be like that. |

you could try setting a timer for your self and when it goes off you need to get off for the rest of the day keep your gaming to 2-4 hours a day at the most if not less than 10 hours a week ...only you have to remember when the timer goes off you have to get off your game no matter what your doing |

Addiction is a hard thing to control. I personnaly lack of willpower so I tend to return to my bad habit quite often. I cannot really help you on this one except to wish you that you overcome this challenge in your life.
Bonne chance.

Never be afraid to seek help.
Don't give up.
That's all I have to say... sorry. |

What I have developed for myself is a permission checklist. The purpose of which is to ensure that I have done tasks that are important before getting into the game. |
