Despite the suggestive thread title, its not really how it sounds. As some of us are characters of different race, origin and faiths, we all have a certain aspect that pulls us to this place. For me, because of my 'fanboyism' to anime, and my video game tendecies eventually wound me up here.
Anyways, video games are a very big aspect of my life at a very young age. It was a way for me to share fun times with many friends, and it was there to help cope with more than enough troubling times that it became an addiction.
If you play, why do you do so? |

wow, honestly I had never really thought of why until now. I guess I play to get away from everything, but I also play because the story of some really captivate me like the ending of a really good book, and I always liked that. |

Playing to escape reality, to play with friends, come up with ideas meself for the future possibly, thinking of my own scenes of how it could of ended differently, trying for competitions, putting myself in a players shoes inside the game for full effect...
Reason I go by ghost of games. ^_^ |

It could go either way Silv, since its personal reasons, and it goes into the user's side of the spectrum, rather than discussing it in the main part normally reserved for the main site topics. |

Well, I play games because of the story line. Sure, there were a few games here and there that caught my attention full time, but If it has a crappy story and the best game whatsoever, It can go burn.
To play is to enjoy reality in the timeslot given by that who plays. What happens is all up to you, depending on your choice reflected upon the options you so play forth.

Does it affect you at all say even though the story may be good the game is rather short? |

I used to play all the time as a kid. I still do. But I'm spending less and less time doing so.
I've always played for the story lines. I LOVE reading good books, so it only makes sense that I make the transfer over into video games, which really are just a visual form of storytelling, albiet one that is a little more engaging (in my opinion) than movies. |
