**POSSIBLE SPOILERS**

After seeing Iron Man 2 trailers, I had my doubts on if the movie was going to be any good. I actually thought the trailers sucked and the movie was weak. AND I was right.

They also cut out scenes that were from the trailer (with an alternate scene in the movie added instead). All the good stuff was probably saved for the DVD. (30mins of delete footage).

Specifically, the scene where Iron Man jumps out of the plane with helmet being throwing out by Pepper.

The movie for the most part sucks. First 90 minutes of it - plain boring - drags on - and too much useless chatter.

The fight scenes were all disappointing. The bad guy didn't really make you fear him. He didn't seem like he had a big role either. Mainly because he didn't speak much english. There wasn't any big plot that was 'threatening' the world. Just some guy wanting to "win some military contract". Yup that was the plot. And Just one villian who wants to make Iron Man 'bleed'.

There was only 3 fight scenes in the movie. Car scene. 2 Iron man suits fighting scene. And final scene Iron Man versus a bunch of robot drones.

The only thing that was 'worth' probably seeing in this movie was Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow). She was hot. Too bad she only had one action scene at the end.

And for the comic fans who wanted to see "Easter Eggs" -
There was a scene that had Captain America's Shield. And at the very end of the closing credits, Thors Hammer. - As a lead in for the Thor movie next May (2011). Oh and Captain America supposely is July (2011). The very ending of the movie Nick Fury says - "Iron Man recommended for Avengers but Tony Stark not!" Which sounds to me they're making it open ended for the possibility that there won't be an Iron Man in Avengers or that there will just be a cameo. Or that there maybe a different Iron Man than the current actor. (that's my speculation anyways).

Overall - Iron Man 2 = disappoint and not worth the movie ticket price. Wait for the DVD - or matinee showing.

I'll have to take your word for it. My dad was really looking forward to it this weekend. Then again, movie night is one of the few family events we have left.

Saw the movie last night... it surprised me. The movie did something that most super hero movies don't do. It pushed action and villians to the side to make way for character development.

Weird.

The true villian in this movie isn't Whiplash or Hammer, but Tony Stark himself. All the things that one would expect to go wrong when becoming a super hero to the rest of the world is showcased.

Old enemies, the alienation of his friends, health problems, his drinking and debauchery, his own government beating down his door and coming to terms with his father. All of these concepts won't win any awards, the way they were panned out, but it shows the genre has the potential to mature.

Ronald is right, however. As a super hero movie, it was subpar. As an action movie in general, very good.

I liked it, heck I loved it. And people all got different opinions so hey, I can't judge. At least that dick Michael bay had nothing to do with it.

I liked the movie a little. I saw it last night, and there was so much self conflict with Tony Stark, that he seemed like a hero and a villain to its own truest regard. In the end though, there was an incident over in New Mexico. And since my dad is an expert on old Marvel and DC Comics, he believes it has something to do with the Green Lantern.

It's Thor. Not green lantern. Smile

I guess your dad isn't an expert after all.

Green Lantern = DC universe.
Thor/IronMan/Avengers = Marvel universe

((Pish-posh.

I just watched it this weekend, and I enjoyed the bejiminies out of it.

I actually liked the fact the scripters did a pretty good job with the whole "leaving a legacy" sorts of things us old folk sometimes worry about. Being older, this sort of story-tangent really hit a positive chord with me.

I didn't necessarily like the whole Super-Hotchick-Russian-Spy-Who-Is-His-New-Secretary kinda thing, as it just added more characters to keep in line.

But, other than that, it was worth the price of admission AND a box of milk duds.))

Agreed. The movie was no where near what the original was. War Machine was a nice addition but other then that they could have done so much more with it. It felt like watching the Da Vinci code with Tony Stark.
