Not too much discussion going on here in this forum. Bah!

So what is everybody watching on TV these days?

(Aside from the fact that reruns are being aired right now for most shows.)

Only thing I'm watching now a days are Smallville and Battlestar Galactica.

I've seen all the Joey episodes up til the Christina Ricci one. Haven't seen any new ones.

No more Enterprise for me. Might watch the finale tho. But that won't be til May I think.

What's good on TV these days?

Smallville, but reruns I've been busy with school/work so I stoped watching TV. Oh but I did watch the Gladiator a few times. I think it was on FX or something. |

| I'm really enjoying Lost. The episode that revealed the background of Locke (played by Terry O'Quinn) was far and away my favorite episode of any TV series in recent years. |

Two shows I never miss...The Simpsons and The Andy Griffith Show. The house...shuts...down...when these joints are on. Luckily for me they're both re-ran all the time.

I've also been addicted to this UFC show that comes on Spike after WWE Raw Monday nights.

The History Channel...Discovery...and TLC sometimes...

Around the Horn and PTI on ESPN...never miss these two either. |

Don't know if anyone used to be (or still is) a fan of the British sci-fi series Dr Who?

Anyway, the brand new series of Dr Who starts in the UK this evening.

Man... HSHP... How do you have time to do anything else.

That's alot of shows! Oh... and one word for you... "TIVO"!

My last housemate had Tivo and it was great. You don't miss a show!

Lots of great shows in your list. I heard good things about 24.

I got a chance to watch Lost recently, during the Smallville rerun. Not a bad show. Seems interesting.

I saw commercial Previews for "Grey's Anatomy"... And while it looks kinda lame, they have Katherine Heigl starring in it. (She used to play Isabel Evans on Roswell)! And boy is she hot! Might be worth watching.

Dr Who might be interesting but it's only in Europe. I would probably watch that if it was in the US.

Hmm ... My verdict on Dr Who: It's very true to the original. Christopher Eccleston is supurb and reminds me a lot of Tom Baker who was my fave Doctor as a kid. Billie Piper was a complete surprise. I was expecting the worst but she was really good. The old fans like me will love it but I wonder whether it will win any new fans who have grown up with Lord of the Rings class special effects. Walking store dummys probably just don't cut it.

If anyone else saw it I'd like to hear your opinions. |

You mean mannequins, or shopper who just buy anything that's on special whether they really need it or not? |

Wildcard you're a funny dude

In the show the store dummies and anything else made of plastic were being controlled by an alien force to take over the world. Classic Dr Who storyline and slightly updated effects, but walking dummies taking over the earth? I think the younger viewers who never saw the original will treat it the same way we treated 50's sc-fi: watch it because it's so bad that it's good. |

I remember the Autons (the walking plastic dummies) from their first appearance in Dr Who - so many years ago now that I'm too embarrassed to say how many. LOL

I was disappointed with the new series, I have to say. Didn't like the goofy comedy stuff, like Piper's mom coming on to Eccleston or the dumb scenes with her cowardly boyfriend. They just seemed to be camping it up just a bit too much. Dr Who was better when the humour was just completely off the wall but everyone took the whole thing deadly seriously. Also kinda miss the cliffhanger endings.

I also can't help but think they should have kicked off the new series with a more formidable villain. I know they're probably gonna save the Daleks for like the last episode of the series, but I think it would have been much more fun if they had re-introduced one of the really cool aliens like the Cybermen to kick off the new era.

Anyway, I'll stick with it and hope it gets better.

It occured to me that most of the non-Brits in the forum are gonna be wondering what the f**k me and Marcus are talking about...

To explain: Dr Who is a British sci-fi series that started back in 1963 and is a bit of a national institution. Asking someone who was their favourite Dr Who is a bit like asking someone who is their favourite James Bond. (My personal favourite Doctors were Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker; as far as Bond is concerned: Sean Connery) The Doctor has a bunch of alien enemies who turned up regularly over the years, the most infamous being the Daleks, bodiless fascistic aliens that move around in these metallic canisters - they're way nastier than I've made them sound. LOL

Anyway, the BBC cancelled Dr Who back in the last Millennium, but have just relaunched the show again.

| I don't know much about the show myself. I've only seen a few Tom Baker episodes and that TV movie that aired a few years ago where Paul McGann was the Doctor. I wonder if there will be a story telling how the good Doctor goes from Paul to Christopher Eccleston in the new series, who was damn good in "28 Days Later". And I see that Billie Piper will be starring in the new series as well. She's a hottie. |

| I don't watch much TV anymore. Asde from the pro wrestling, there's very little I feel the need to tune in for. I watch Teen Titans and Adult Swim on Cartoon Network and not much else. Mostly, I'm watch DVDs of my favorite TV shows that are no longer around. Right now, I'm rewatching Angel Seasons 1-5, and am about halfway through Season 3. |

Don't know if anyone used to be (or still is) a fan of the British sci-fi series Dr Who?

Anyway, the brand new series of Dr Who starts in the UK this evening.

I remember watching Dr Who as a kid. I use to be terrified of the Daleks |

LOL It's like the aliens in that silly movie Signs: they have the technology to travel halfway across the galaxy and mount a full-scale invasion of planet Earth, but none of them can figure out how to open Mel Gibson's cellar door. |

Well, the second episode of the new series of Dr Who was way better than the first one.
