He shifted himself in his seat so that Goldie would have more room.

"Well, things have been rather steady for now. Although things seem to be slowing down a bit, what with the weather being warmer now."

He looked over and noticed how sad the reporter looked. The rabbit couldn't help but feel sorry for him. He placed his arm on Goldie's shoulders to try to comfort him.

Goldie smiles and sighs, "Comfort is so nice and you are so good at it. Leaf, sweety stay a while and chat to me."

Goldie puts his arm around the rabbits waist and nods, "Same here, it takes time to build a business round here. Especially when some people don't like me. The Princess seems to like me though."

Goldie's usual smile returns and he looks at his current comanion warmly.

Leaf blushed as Goldie's arm wrapped around his waist. "O-Of course, sir. I guess I could stay for a little while." His eyes gazed into Goldie's. "If you don't mind me asking, what inspired you to become a reporter?"

Goldie smiles and shrugs, "I am very obsessed with truth and I'm massively curious. besides I love to dress up in disguises. Leaf, dear bunny what made you choose the path you chose."

Goldie strokes an ear and whispers, "Somebunny like you could have done anything. You are so sweet and nice."

Goldie laughs, "I suppose the peck on your cheek was a bit much."

Leaf's face flushed at the memory of his encounter at the book shop. His thoughts turned to Rika.

"Perfume? Erm... I don't think I, uh, would have noticed with my mind being... um... preoccupied."

"Ah! That sweet girl, Rika, she was very attracted to you." Goldie laughs and nods happily. "Are you two an item and are you good to her like you should be."

"W-What?!" The rabbit said, bearing a shocked look on his face. He didn't realize it was a joke until Goldie had told him so.

"O-Oh...You had me there for a second."

"I only wish i could," Goldie smiles and strokes the bunny's ear and whispers, "Be good to her because she is honored by your love and devotion."

Goldie exits and then brings in a red silk rose with a silver pin, "Give her this and explain it is a token of love everlasting."

Leaf was curious about what Goldie was up to when he returned with the silk rose. He carefully checked the object, amazed at its craftsmanship.It appeared to be nearly the genuine thing.

"I... I don't know what to say. Th-thank you!"

He gingerly placed the rose in his inside coat pocket.

"You done a lot for me, Goldie and I've only met you. I wish there was some way to repay you..."

"If you would be so kind." Goldie kisses him and then nods, "Payment in full. Unless you ever have a cousin who is inclined my way then please send him to visit I have a generous guest room."

Leaf blushed as Goldie kissed his cheek. "Oh, of course. Just a moment."

He pulled out a small bag of florins out of his pants pocket and placed it on the table. "Here... it's not much, but it should cover the ad and the gift. Also, you can have a discount on books you need if you drop by my store."

"Out!" Goldie pats the bunny's rump and repeats, "Out before I lose all self control entirely."

He strokes the ear of the bunny and sighs, "So love a handsome bunny. Begone now and make Rika happy or so help me I will report it to all of Bonbon, you hear me."

Leaf jumped as Goldie patted his rear. He took Goldie's words for heart. "I-I will! Thank you, Goldie!"

He tipped his hat to the reporter and walked out the door of his home.
