Iris said nothing. She took him by the arm, her grip firm but gentle, holding him fast but causing no discomfort. She pulled him along behind her but instead of heading to the door after leaving the kitchen, she took the tabby deeper into the house.

Iris took the tabby to her room and pushed him in, closing the door behind her. The room had a large double bed in it as well as a warbdrobe, a chest of draws and assorted decorations.
