This RP is a bit different than most. Unlike other Open RPs, this one encompasses the entire town of BonBon and does not follow just a small group of people. It is not 'Open' in the same way others are, this you will see shortly.
In this very particular thread, I will be taking on a very unique character that will effect all who join. There is no need to ask to join, simply do so. There will be no post limitations. However I do ask that you do not run too far ahead into the thread on your own. I only ask that you stay with the other posters. In other words, if you are posting half a page ahead of others, STOP POSTING until the others catch up.
This will be a "Mass RP", you may bring as many characters as you wish. In fact, I'm hoping for a lot of characters.
I hope you will enjoy "BonBon Burns". |

I hope that refrigeration unit doesn't run on electricity, Pachs, they didn't have that kind of power in 1895 to the best of my knowledge. |

In 1842, an American physician, John Gorrie, designed the first system for refrigerating water to produce ice. He also conceived the idea of using his refrigeration system to cool the air for comfort in homes and hospitals (i.e., air-conditioning). His system compressed air, then partially cooled the hot compressed air with water before allowing it to expand while doing part of the work required to drive the air compressor. That isentropic expansion cooled the air to a temperature low enough to freeze water and produce ice, or to flow "through a pipe for effecting refrigeration otherwise" as stated in his patent granted by the U.S. Patent Office in 1851.[7] Gorrie built a working prototype, but his system was a commercial failure. |

Me and Hoshiginiro where talking about that and I just used the same information I gave her to prove it is possible. |

I knew it was possible. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't running on electricity. I've noticed that some people around here aren't entirely sure as to what was around then and what wasn't. And they tend to just assume. |

Well, I wasn't really thinking about any direction. And the way I understand things, BonBon is in a mountain range, with mountains on all sides. I mean, it's supposed to be an escape, a retreat, not a grand attraction. It's a town of sex and moral deviance. A place like that would hardly be left standing in one piece if it was out in the open.
Although Loretta's map is well done, I've honestly never really looked at it as an actual BonBon map. No offence, L. But until Vanessa provides a map, or more accurate description of the town and/or its surroundings, I'll always think of BonBon as surrounded by mountains.
And so, this brings me back to the fire. Once again, having never actually given any thought to the direction, I placed it on the mountain where the sun set. Which to my understanding is typically in the west. Now that I think about it, this rather conflicts with Loretta's map in more ways that one. For a start, Loretta has no mountains to the west. And secondly, I at one point stated that my main fursona, Silvador, had a view of the mountain out of his window. According to Loretta's map, his home is on the north-east edge of BonBon. Yet he can see the fire up in the mountains in the west. My point is, for the RP, it's probably best not to refer to Loretta's map. too much confliction.
As for the fire itself, it's still a ways up the mountainside and is not very big yet. It'll probably reach BonBon in about 2-3 hours and by then it'll be a mighty blazing wildfire. Remember, people, it's been a very hot, very dry summer. That blaze is going to sweep down the mountainside like a flood of orange light.
I wasn't intending to light it up so early, but I didn't get quite as many people as I'd hoped for in the opening, and I think I started it too late in the day. In either case, I hope it turns out to be a successful RP. My Simon's Diamonds flopped, and I had big hopes for that. Raiding Simon's Diamond mine would have been an interesting one, I reckon. |

Why not go by Loretta's map silv its a visual reference and Vanessa never said it wouldn't work ....and the town is surrounded on three sides by the mountains in the map with a large water by-way on the west side .... that's quite closed in |

No posting order. I only ask that posters try not to get too far ahead of other posters. So if it has been a while since a poster or two has not posted, or certain posters are getting ahead of the rest of the group, I ask that they stop and wait for everyone else.
But by all means, Kat, jump right in. |

A green fox dressed in white chaps, boots, sweaty shirt and gloves waved his hat over his head among the escaping crowd, making his way to the firehouse.
"By Gaia! A shovel! My last florin for a shovel!"
An old bandicoot called out to him. "Here! American, over here..!" The old fur still wearing a suit and tie had fallen down, a shovel in his paw.
The fox ran over and helped him up. "You don't sound like you broke anything, sir."
"Ah, just my pride, fox. I have investment property here, and I refuse to see it come crashing down in flames. But I am too old for digging trenches. Take this shovel and do your best. I must leave now, mister...?"
"Katmir. I won't let anything crash, bandicoot."
With that, he took the long handled shovel, tipped his hat, and ran alongside a small group of furs going towards the fire with shovels in hand.

Under seven minutes during a lavatory break at work. I needed humor, and due to time constraints it was a pop culture reference. Boo yah, grandmaw. Boo yah.

Alright, I'm reviewing my posting rule.
Because this is a large scale RP and covers different locations at the same time, I am going to allow people to continue posting as long as their 'location' is not being hindered by tardy posters.
I'm not going to have this entire thread held up for days on end because of a couple of posters who aren't even on the board often anyway. The rest of you may continue posting as before. I will post shortly. Mayfield, if you're up for it, I'd like you to post as well. |

Okay... So if I follow correctly, the areas so far are:
1) Bon Bon streetside - evacuations
2) Mountainside - ditch digging
3) Bon Bon border - plow mission
...I think.
"God gave me a gift. I can shovel pretty darn good."
