With the help of Helen and having some food brought to them by Oleene and her sister they Pachs had managed to stay awake for the entire day...He had just replaced the towels on Dusk with new ones and had given her something to drink...he had kept watch for her the entire time making sure she had plenty to drink and kept her cooled off. Her wound had healed almost completely. He took of the bandage and examined it as she slowly started to return to her normal body temperature.

Pachs: There....now I think you could stand and have a walk around....to stretch your legs a little...

Dusk sat up slowly and rubbed the back of her neck before standing up and collapsing onto one knee with a look of pain on her face.

Pachs: It wasn't another Scorpion was it?

Pachs looked at the bed for anything then quickly helped Dusk to her feet and looked at the back of her neck where she rubbed it.

"No. Legs are just... bleh." Dusk said. Her legs felt like crap at the moment although what could she expect from not being on them for a few days.

Pachs: Well let me help you walk for a little bit, and sense your still half naked I think we will stick to inside for now...

He held her arm helping her walk to get back the feeling in her legs.

"Ugh, I'm fine." Dusk managed to get out as she started walking rather quickly trying to pull away from the two. She took a few steps before stumbling a bit but recovering.

He let her go knowing it had only been a day and she should be fine.

Pachs: Good....now; I think after what we where talking about before....you helping the town...I think I might have some ideas..

Pachs: I was thinking maybe you could become a Deputy with Helen and help protect the town.

He sat down in a chair and looked at Dusk.

Pachs: Don't you think the best way to show you have changed is to join Helen in being a Deputy here....There have been quite a few examples in history where a enemy became a trusted supporter....but whats more important then trying to get them to like you is at least trying to do good regardless of what they might think or say.

"Well, I don't know. I feel the town wants me hung instead of protecting them." Dusk said rubbing her arm trying to think of all possible outcomes for what could happen.

Pachs: Well....that is something we will have to work on...but I think that with the help of the Sheriff and Helene I think you could at least get a chance....and seeing how you got shot trying to stop a raid on the town and almost died...they might take that into consideration as well...Most of them already know your here....The Doctor has been talking with everyone this morning...

Dusk was shocked to hear what the doctor had been doing "Ss.. so the people, know I'm here?" she asked looking out the window, her ears drooping down.

Pachs: They have more then likely known sense yesterday....Maybe waiting to hear you have died; but sense you clearly are not...But there maybe another idea I have that could work...but only if you really wanted to...I could fake your death to the town and let you go....But for me Redemption has always been better then Deception.

Pachs: I won't let them hang you....if anything I would want them to send you into jail....and work with the sheriff doing some community service.

Pachs saw it and stood up and made his way over to the door and walked out onto the porch and looked at all the people.

Pachs: I know why your all here...And she is under arrest for what she did and will be given a fair trial....this is America after all; you people do pride yourselves on being the best in the world...So let her recover and when she is ready we can begin her trail....That is how it is done; and that's how it will be done this time...

The cabbage hit Dusk in the shoulder. It wasn't a hard throw but it made the fox look down at the floor.

Pachs: Hay....now everyone just go back to your day and let her recover...if you have not heard she was shot trying to help me and the sheriff to take care of some bandits that where planning on attacking the town....

A few of the furs looked over at the doctor he had not told them that and one guy glared at the doctor.

Man: You never told us that Doc.....something like that can go a long way to making up for what she done....

Doctor: I didn't know why she was hurt....Don't blame me...

Pachs: Its OK folks.....he didn't know honestly....now just go about your day and let her recover.

"I don't care!!!" said a voice from the crowd before an apple came flying and hit Dusk right where she had gotten shot. She gasped and dropped to her knees, clutching her chest. Her lung was still very weak and the apple knocked the wind out of her "That bitch deserves to hang!! She killed my husband!!" a female coyote said as she stepped forward to look at the outlaw.

Pachs: Well then she will have a fair trial like she deserves....If you want to try and take her...I will stop you....Because I won't let a mob of people hang someone how turned themselves over so face punishment.
