First the Bees are disappearing. Then Bats are dying out because of a mysterious white fungus on their noses. And now Black birds are falling from the sky in the thousands for unknown reasons in the middle of the night. Also notice how each of these mysteries begins with a B.

There is something very wrong with out planet. But is it global warming? Signs of an impending apocalypse? Or are aliens playing pranks on us?

I, for one, think it is aliens playing pranks. A whole ship full of scrawny, little, pint-sized extra terrestrials sitting around laughing themselves senseless as we scratch our heads trying to figure out just what the fuck is going on around us.

I heard it was all happening on the night of New Years eve. It could have easily resulted in surges in the air when they set off fireworks.

It's possible that the blackbirds were killed off by some kind of avian virus or parasite. The only thing that can be done is wait for the scientists to figure out what took them out.

From what I heard some of the animals that died en masse recently were from the aftermath of the fireworks. I can't imagine the global fireworks displays were overall beneficial to the environment. I'm wondering what kind of chemical aftermath there would have been in the air when they were done.

I know someone is going to mention 4th of July, but that is only in the U.S. whereas New Year's is pretty much celebrated across the globe.

Yes, but more often than not, most people celebrate news years in different parts of the world on various times of the year. China, for example, does it I think in February.
