I know it's a silly thing to talk about, but when the new game, Pokemon Black and White came out, the region was renamed as Unova instead of Isshu, even the pokemon were completely renamed like Wargle to Braviary!

What do you think, is this a good thing, or is it killing off the charm?

The "charm" died around the time Gold and Silver came out. When Ash went to the Johto region. Granted, there are some good pokemon in the "second generation", but they should have stuck with the original 151 and left it at that.

The names and even appearances of pokemon these days seriously the old creative originality that Pokemon used to have.

i dont know about you all but i still plan on getting the pokemon black and white just to use the new gear steel pokemon.. and also the new fox pokemon...

I enjoyed Pokemon up to Silver and Gold myself. Exploring both Kanto and Johto regions was awesome, and going back to fight the old Gym Leaders made the effort all the more worthwhile. With only 100 new pokemon, each with their own uniquely defining features, I was still hooked. Hell I even tried a Japanese version of it since I wanted to try it a few months ahead. One of the best things was when they added steel and dark types, adding more elements of strategy to the game.

Then Ruby and Sapphire came out. I thought: "Hey cool, maybe it will just be like in the last game". Instead, I find several pokemon cut from the game, a series of pokemon that were more powerful than necessary were added (Mewtwo was the only powerhouse I wanted), and new land felt ok, but when I find I could only travel between two regions, I was turned off instantly.

Slowly after that pokemon slowly descended into the abyss. Kids like it for no reason now. THe anime used to be fun when Ash became a trainer, learning about the beautiful relationship with pokemon and humans and learning through many obstacles that their friendship with a measure of stategy won the battle. Many times did I cry when Ash wanted to leave Pikachu behind when they found a pack of them in the woods, or when Ash tried desperately to bring a shelder medicine across that bicyle bridge. Now its ALL about strategy and stats and types and pretty much just battle at this point. And that Team Rocket motto is getting worse and worse (And honestly like the original better ftw). Honestly I thought Jesse and James would have figured by now they made better good guys than bad guys and Joined Ash by now to find themselves again.

I thought the first two movies were pretty Charming because they actually showed selflessness and devotion on Ash's Part. The only one I can think of that was good was the one with the underwater city.

Yeah, I like her too. She is very cool who always has that calm, collected composure of a professional trainer. And yeah, the anime went downhill. It used to be awesome with the shroud of seriousness, adventure, bonding adventures and self discovery. Now it is all about the pokemon themselves.

As far as the movies go... I've only seen... 4.

1 I love and will continue to love. I was enraged when I converted my old VHS copy to DVD and discovered the extra 10 minutes from the beginning that was left out at the cinema, that was added on the VHS, was once more left out on the DVD. (and yes, I teared up at Pikachu's efforts after Ash got between Mew and Mewtwo's attacks... and not just the first 10 times I watched it)

2 I enjoyed quite a lot.

3 I only vaguely remember and 4 is where I started to realise that things were beginning to slip. I haven't watched any more of the movies and honestly find myself substantially uninterested in seeing any more.

Well, I would'nt say a dead cow, but they are suffering by doing what they have. The good thing to do when making a successful sequel(s) is taking any of the good concepts and adding new ones while tweaking any bad concepts to make them better.

Red/Blue/Green: World Exploration, 151 Pokemon to catch, healing and shopping centers, and leveling up

Gold/Silver: Time shifting, connecting continents between Kanto and Johto. 100 new pokemon added, way to connect the worlds by transportation.

I hated hearing about this whole trading system where I hear the NPCs pretty much say: "Hey, this pokemon came from Hoenn, You can't go there, but if you have any of the previous titles, you can trade it to your current system". Why the hell would they not make a good system allowing intercontinental travel so you don't have to force people to buy all their games!?

i am starting to think that they just keep making pokemon games just so that they can see rule 30 somthing done to the pokemon.

Silv, Final Fantasy is still ok if they stopped making the # versions. I want to see more Tactics games.

So you never enjoyed a single FF game? Well, i like some of the good games like 3,4 and 5. 7 was fun, and 10 was pretty good. FFT and the FFTA were not bad either. All the rest I could care less about.
