Hey anyone going to attend some festivals this summer?
I started last weekend with a very good festival called Arrow Rock. It had some of my favourite bands. Lots of old rockers there. Laughing
I promised you a review.

Unfortunately there was a littlebit of rain, but there were lots of tents to shelter and get fries and of course frikandellen, kroketten and hamburgers! Razz

Here are some pictures of my favourite bands:
The old British rockers of Thunder:

Glen Hughes gave me the chills when hitting his high notes on 'mistreaded'.
Unfortunately his guitar player was very sloppy. Crying or Very sad

Kansas. For the first time in the Netherlands! Finally I got the chance to see them live. Their encore was a bit predictable "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry On Wayward Son".

Oh and of course Dream Theater. What can I say.
These guys must have sold their souls to the devil!

It was their 2nd gig on their new world tour. They played 2 songs of the new album and they even sounded better live. I'm going to see them again in October!

What's your favourite live music band Martina?

Cool pics Satch !! Cool Looks like you had a good time despite the rain.

There is the Live8 festival in London next month http://www.live8live.com/. The tickets were only available via a lottery and I couldn't make it anyway. I would love to have gone as Pink Floyd are playing together for the first time since 1981 - Roger Waters included Shocked

I'm hoping it will be so I can record it Wink . I think it will be similar to Live Aid with a phone line for donations.

I was on the Lowlands festival last year. Unfortunately there aren't that many good festivals. Most festivals become too big. I think in Holland Arrow Rock and Bospop are the best, but still I prefer to see bands in small clubs like 013 in Tilburg.
Playing festivals isn't really fun since you get a show of maximum 1 hour and most of the time you have to build up without a soundcheck and rush your gear off the stage. Most band play festivals since they can reach a broader audience that way. Wink

Well stadiums aren't my favourite place for concert. The music most of the time sounds awful plus you can see the artists only very far away. Most of the time the sceens give you a better view. There's a very good lineup though at live 8! Plus most of the time it's fun to go with a group of friends and have a good time! Wink
Hmmmm a friends has tickets for an upcoming U2 concert!
I think I'll go! Mr. Green

No there are actually still tickets for sale through the official channel.

My favorite version of the song Mistreated is Richie Blackmore’s Rainbow’s version Live from 1977 with Ronnie James Dio on vocals. It’s awesome.

I also have a dvd of Deep Purple Live in concert from Bombay (with Steve Morse on guitar) from 1995. It’s a good concert video.
