Hi Jana,
I noticed that you keep having technical problems with your live shows. It sounds like when you test it, it probably works fine, then when many people log in it doesn't work very well. It is probably what we call a loading issue, your system is running out of either bandwidth on the internet connection, or CPU processing power when many people are on. It's most likely not enough bandwidth at some point in the chain from your computer to the rest of the world. I wonder how many hops the internet packets make in getting from your country to all around the world. It might not be a software problem but more of a capacity problem so you might see if you can get a higher bandwidth connection from your ISP. Do you use a cable modem, DSL, or do you have a T1 line into your home? Hope that maybe this helps!

Yes it is thrue,the last few weeks it worked without problem,but last Sunday the software I am useing for my live show didnt work and is not still working,Before the problem was because the quality ofthe video was to high so we needed to make it lower and than it worked.But now is problem with the software.
Still something and it makesme crazy.
I use DSL.
well today the guys is here and doing some work around the pool.But he is really old and he can bearly seee me:-))

OK so lowering the video quality lowered the bandwidth requirements, this should help. Sometimes the driver software on your computer needs to be tuned for your type of connection, DSL in your case. There are also different speed grades for DSL. You might want to run a test to see how much bandwidth your actually getting:

Most of these tests mainly test download speed because most people mainly download data, programs, pictures etc. But your the source of the video data so you also need high upload speed. There are more advanced programs that test both.
I'm not sure where the domain clubjanacova.com is served from, is it your own PC, or a service?
As far as the software goes, I'm not sure what type of problem your having but you should probably defrag your hard drive right before your shows, maybe Saturday night. You should load up your computer with memory, wouldn't hurt to have 1 GB or more of main memory. Use a fixed swap file size of 2 GB. You should have fast video hardware that works well with your particular PC. PC hardware and software often have many bugs. Update your system drivers to get the latest bug fixes.
The internet wasn't really designed at the start to handle the bandwidth and latency demands for video and so it's important to have everything working under best conditions to get the best performance.
Do you think something in the software configuration was lost? Sometimes it's easier to uninstall/reinstall it if the install is a simple procedure. Do you want to tell me what software your running? Are you on Windows or Mac?
I ask a lot of questions and I'm sure you and your own people know what your doing, but the questions might just make everyone rethink the problem and maybe it will help. You can email me off the forum or we can continue here if you'd like.

Well I have good news the live show is working and I can choose from higher and lower quality of the video by myself,which is great,because sometimes the internet speed is fast enough so I can use the high quality but sometimes it is not so fast so I can use the lower quality.good think is that it´s working:_))))

Forgot to mention, if you keep your computer going 24/7 it's always a good idea to reboot say once a week, before you defrag would be a good time. There are very sound technical reasons (memory leaks) to do this. |
