"It was the last time i ever sang," sadness creeping into her voice.

"I don't know exactly how long she listened to me singing but the next thing i knew i heard the sound of running feet on the soil, i turned towards the sound and the only thing i saw was my mothers foot," tears falling more freely, "she kicked me in the face knocking me to to ground, my muzzle in the dirt."

"She began to kick me in arm, the ribs, the stomach screaming about me being a disgrace of a child," Jessie's tears falling heavily as she shook her head recounting the memory, "i don't even know how long she kicked me, all i know is the last thing she did was put her foot on the back of my head and pushed my face into the dirt filling my mouth and nose before she spit on the back of my head and stormed off,"

"It was the gardener who took me to a doctor," her shoulders shaking now, "I had lost consciousness from the pain a shortly after she had stormed off."

"Quite the serious of unfortunate events. That sort of physical abuse can be very harsh on the mental health of someone, especially as it was a family member."

"When i got home two days later my parents were at the door," burying her face in her hands sobbing, "she told me i should have known better and turned around walking inside, my father shook his head and followed inside."

"I spent the time from then locked in my room, sneaking out the window at night," her face still buried in her hands, "until they told me i was to pack and being sent to a private school."

"Yes," she sobbed lifting her head, "I usually either snuck down by the river, or climbed into the apple trees of our orchard."

"It felt like a gift and a curse when i heard them say i was being sent away," lifting another tissue to dry her eyes.

"i felt it was a curse because the school they were sending me to they donated the most money to," she said softly, "and I'd heard more than enough to know that it wasn't a pleasant place."

The doctor was doing little but listening at this point, sitting still and watching her every movement in study of her emotional state.

"It sort of felt like going from a prison to prison," she sighed quietly, "the teachers were very strict and allowed to use physical punishment."

"But it was still better than home." finally looking him in the eye again.

"I too came from a strict education, though for the canings I received I doubt they would have matched up to what you described. Boarding schools are quite popular amongst the elitist. I assume you come from a wealthy background?"

"I see. Tell me, miss Sinclair, do you do anything to... relieve your trauma? Do you let it bubble up inside you or do you release your emotions?" He sighed and looked to his table, picking up a small broken pocket watch. "One of my old teachers used to have me fix this old broken watch every time I was a naughty boy. Whereas any other teacher would cane us. He knew this you see, and thought it would help relieve my stress considering the other teachers would react differently. He was correct, it helped. He even let me keep it." He set it down again. "If you're wondering where I'm going with this, it's that children who get beaten will beat their future children. It would be good to know you have an outlet for any emotions this caused you to prevent explosive emotional states."

Jessie scratched her head for a moment a look on her face of deep thought, than with a light shrug of her shoulders, "I go shopping whenever i'm feeling down i guess."

"I," she says quietly as her hands reach up to hold herself tight in a self hug, "sometimes when i think about it i crawl into the darkest place i can find and cry."

"Others i go shopping til i've pushed it from my mind." still in the self hug.

"Well i came to Bon Bon, start a new life to escape my old one," she says quickly without putting much thought into what she was saying, "my goals are to make myself happy."

Clenching her fists, "Instead of those damned people." her voice now having a hint of anger.

"What," she says looking at him, "oh no they died a few years ago in an accident."

"I was referring to their brothers and sister." her hands now flat on her legs again.

"Because before my parents died they supported them, and my parents died everything they owned went to me," her face now emotionless, "and they got greedy, decided sweet little Jessica would be easy to control."

"So one day they showed up at my doorstep and took over my home, my money, and life," her face remained the same.

"Neither," she says a dark smile suddenly appearing on her face, "I endured 2 years of their hell, than through some simple slips of notes i sold the land and everything on it, had their names removed from any of my family records."

"The last time i saw them was behind a line of guards glaring at me as they were escorted off the property," the smile slowly softened, "after what few things i owned had been loaded into a wagon i left and headed here."
