Roland smiled at her warmly. For the first time, the rodent looked the raccoon girl from head to toe.

"You're a very lovely lass," he said, "Don't suppose you'd know where I could get a job?"

"You could try talking to a guard," Jessica says cooling her head, "I don't work so i don't really know."

Roland thought for a moment and then began looking around. After spotting a lamp post, the rodent ran over to it and began talking to it.

"Excuse me, officer, but do you know where I might find a job?"

Jessica stared slack jawed as he talked to the lamp post, slowly reaching into the bag she pulled out a strawberry and bit off a large bite.

"Excuse me, sir?" Roland continued to talk to the lamp post. He waved his hand at it, as if waving his hand on front of a person's face. Finally, the rodent turned and walked back to Jessica with a frown on his face.

"The guards in this town act like lamp posts," he said.

"I guess they can be a bit stiff." Jessica says before taking another bite of the strawberry.

"It was a pleasure meeting you, miss Jessica, but I must be off. I need to find a job or I won't be eating dinner tonight. Good day."

With a tip of his hat, that did not exist, Roland began to walk off down the street once more.

Jessica watched the strange man start to leave, at first she hesitated but eventually followed more out of curiosity than anything.

"There has got to be some place in town that will hire us, Helga," Roland said, as if talking to another person.

He continued walking down the street, occasionally stopping to admire the architecture of the town. More than often, his eyes strayed to the beautiful females dressed in partially, and even fully, revealing dresses.

"This is quite the place, Helga," Roland said at one point. "Modesty seems to be of little concern. I could get used to living here."

For a brief moment, the rodent stopped and watched as a tiger felt up a tigress in the doorway of one of the houses. This action quickly led to other, more intimate actions. Within full view of any who passed by, the paired appeared to be more concerned with indulging their senses rather than concealing themself. Of the several people walking past, only a few glanced in the pair's direction, and only briefly.

"Quite the town indeed," Roland said once more, cotinuing on his way.

Jessica continued to follow him only watching the tigers briefly.

After a few minutes, Roland stopped in front of a melon stall and began speaking to it.

"Excuse me, good sir, but would you happen to know where I might find some work?"

The stall owner looked over the top of his melons at the jerboa with a raised eyebrow.

"Are you talking to me?" the badger asked.

"Can't you see I'm having a conversation, you man?" Roland snapped. "How rude."

Taken aback by the rodent's outburst, the badger stepped back and just watched as the scruffy looking fur continued to converse with his melons... without much success.

Jessica stared in disbelief trying to figure out whether he actually thought the melons would talk back.
