oh ok... Confused
Charlie is just gave you another bad example of the male sex. Wink
Take good care of your scratches. Hope it doesn't get infected.
Sounds like he did a lot of damage. Would be uncool if it left a scar. Evil or Very Mad

They don't call female animals bitches for nothing...... watch out with them too!

You still have to "help" them too, otherwise you keep mopping the floor every couple of days in the month

Cats personalities as adults depend very much on how they are treated as kittens. If they are not handled much as kittens they tend to become very aloof adults. If they are handled a lot as kittens they become very friendly adults. One cat I had as a kid came from a pet shop and had obviously not been handled very much - she didn't like being picked up or held and would hiss and sometimes scratch. She changed after about a year and ended up being really friendly, but was about 6 weeks old when we got her.

I have 2 theories now:

1) Charlie wasn't treated well wherever he was before he ended up in the shelter. He was a stray so I guess he ended up running away or was dumped. If thats true I feel reallly sorry for him.

2) Charlie used to be an outdoor cat and is now being mostly confined indoors. He's just going nuts because he cant go out and prowl.

The only other thing I can suggest is to get him de-clawed. I really don't like that idea but its better than having him scratch you.

You could always phone the RSPCA for some advice. I think there is an equivalent in the US.

Hope this helps.

Well, yes i think you are right. As he was bad at the beginning then i started letting him outside. And he calmed down. But now its so hot, he wont go out during the day, and now its monsoon season he cant go out at night either. I dont want to get him de clawed though. I think its cruel and plus he needs his claws to protect himself when he is out

We have the ASPCA Wink

"If, despite your best efforts, your cat persists in playing with you, you can discourage her by spraying from a can of compressed air. Try to carry the can around during the times the cat is likely to ambush you, so you will be able to deliver the blast of air at the exact moment the cat runs at you. Other devices such as whistles and water spray can stop the cat at the time ..."

That reminds me - a guy I used to work with used to shoot his cat with a water pistol when it misbehaved. Yeah I think de-clawing a cat is cruel too but its better than having your face scarred. Charlie doesn't sound like he's playing to me Sad

I bought a water sprayer and used it a few times, and it helped for that moment. Also cause i always carry around a bottle of water i have threw that at him a few times, so he got really wet. I have also tried blowing at him hard but that just makes him even madder! I use to have abottle of compressed air to clean my laptop etc, i should buy another bottle to see if that helps Confused

My aunt did the same to her cat and it really seems to work as most cats seem to hate water. So it's a good and not cruel punishment. Cool

I never had a cat as pet. Just a rabbit and hamsters oh and a goldfish.
I always was really heartbroken when they died. Crying or Very sad

Uh does compressed air clean the pussyjuice from your keyboard? Tongue

As a kid i had 2 dogs, numerous goldfish, 2 hamsters and 1 rabbit.

My first dog Max was my first ever pet, we were like best friends, when i was sad he would lick my tears when i was happy he use to be happy too. When he got ill he stopped eating, he would only take food from me. When he died it felt like i lost a family member, i still remember finding out like it was yesterday, it had to be the single worst moment of my life

He was the greatest pet ever. He was really like a person. I would post a pic of him but i dont have any here. Maybe ill ask my mum to send me one. I had him from when i was 6 till i was about 13. He was about 6 when we got him from battersea dogs home in London. Now till this day its the only credit card i have, a Battersea Dogs home Mastercard, everytime its used a percentage goes to them Cool

You wont believe what happened tonight. Charlie sat on the sofa with me Very Happy All night! I was flicking through the channels and switched animal planet on, and he came up on the sofa and sat next to me and watched the tv with me for hours, i wouldnt dare change channels though Laughing

He was a mongral. But actually he ran very fast! And only on 3 legs too Shocked As he had one bad leg Confused

My most memorible Xmas, was once when he went missing when i was about 7 or 8. We all split up to look for him. Anyway i found him by house facing the motorway. A guy was out washing his car Xmas day with a hose pipe, and Max was water crazy, so he was playing with the hose pipe. I remember pulling him by his collar home, feeling so proud i found him Cool
