I just saw a newsbullitin that the army's of the Netherlands and Belgium are going to use each bases, airfields, havens and trainingfields.

Also the crews of the ships will soon be half Dutch and half Belgium.

When this step has been done, this will be the basic for the European Armed Forces. The EAF.

I think that in 5 years, we will have a army that is at the same level of tech as the US and personal of China.

What is your opinion about this?

Huh. Thought they already had that and called it NATO.

nato is europa the us and some middle east countries

this will be for the moment The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

they want to save money. But why should we do that? The goverment of the netherlands makes a debt of 80 million a day at the moment.

and our armed forces are shrinking by the year. we have to sell our tanks and they, the gov., wants to be part of the international pllayground.

and now we have to sell our material to make sure we can pay the personal for the rest of the year.

Combination of high expenses including yearly debts because for years no one could believe the USA (and other countries) would ever experience a depression like the 1930's.

Then the politicians remove the only defense against banks running amok, "Glass-Stegal", thanks due to the massive lobbying efforts of, you guessed it, the banks.

10 years later banks crash the world economy all in the name of greed.

So now the USA (and much of the world) does not get the tax income to pay the bills (yes, very simplified statement, but accurate).

Choice is: Balance the budget by shutting down the US govt and create a second depression.
-or-
Try and reduce spending while increasing taxes, only delaying the eventual bankruptcy of the US, or for that matter similar fate for most of Europe.

One thing for sure, the political will to do extremely painful actions does not exist.

Sort of like the repeat of events in the 1930's, and we all know what happened then..l.

yes one person will promise something, people will vote / follow him/her, he/she has to forfill the promises and then absolute power.

i say for this will the crisis be stopped then the whole world has to reduce all debts back to say 0 %.
