I have been wanting a kitten for some time now.
Anyways a friend of mine and famous Director for Vivid, Wicked, Penthouse etc Kelly AKA Toni English, has a non profit animal shelter. I went and visited today, and found myself the most amazing kitten. A beautiful 5 week old Russian Blue. Its so young they are not sure of the sex yet. Its also too young to bring home with me, as she is still very weak. She is being bottle fed right now as shes no longer with her mother.
I will be picking her up within the next 2 weeks, i will also be fostering one of her siblings until she gets stronger. As it wouldnt be right so early to tear them apart.
Anyways i didnt take any pictures of her but here are some Russian Blue Kitten pictures i found online to give you an idea.
Maybe you guys can help me with a name. As i dont know the sex yet a unisex name would be great, or a girls or boys name to keep in mind.

Congrats Martina, you did find a very nice kitten !!!
I googled a little and guess what ...they love sitting on laps, for hours !
I hope Charlie does not get jealous.

I'm not a cat person. but Sasha is a good unisex Russian name. (So is Misha...but I'm not sure you want to go there! )
Latka is another (and it was Andy Kaufman's character on "Taxi"...which you're way too young to remember, but you may have seen Jim Carrey play him in "Man in the Moon").
Alex would work, too. |

Hey Martina!
Wow cool cats! I'm sure you will look after him well.
Sounds so sweet. Are they called Russian blue because of the colour of their eyes?
Hope he will get along with Charlie.
hmmm how about Smirnofsky? |

Ehh..you have a few members whose name qualify, they won't mind setting on your lap
Or perhaps:
Alexy
Snoopy
Nikky
Smokey
Jimmy
Sexy
Martina, did you know they also like to sit on computerchairs ?
(though they do prefer your lap in am sure)
You are sure don't want to keep them both ? |

I sorta like Chaplin too although it doesn't quite meet your requirements. Would be a cool sounding pair: Charlie & Chaplin
Good thinking Bennie!
I can't really think of too many names off the top of my head. My only suggestion is Taffy, which is the name of a pet sasquatch from a book I'm reading (don't ask ) Plus, he could rock out everytime the Laffy Taffy song comes on
Or you could observe him for a little while and see what kind of personality he has and then come up with a name accordingly. |

Snoopy is a dog And a bad dog too he got arrested at Heathrow.
Bluey is a bit unimagitive for a Russian blue don't you think? I can see the blue word for russian on Babelfish but I have no idea how to pronoumce it
I like Ziggy ... Ziggy Catnip and the Pets From Penthouse
Some more suggestions from another site:
Barney
Billy
Bugsy
Cadbury
Chianti
Chilli
Commie (They are Russians after all)
Inky (in case you adopt the black one too)
Izzy
Mikey
Monty (good English sounding name i think)
Ramsay (if you are a Neigbours fan)
Schumi (if you're a Ferrari Fan)
Willy
Woody
Winkie
I think the best idea if you get the grey and black one together would be "Vodka" and "Coke" Imagine calling them in for dinner ...
Other pairs:
Ben & Jerry
Bill & Ben
Black & Decker
Ernie & Bert
Smith & Wesson
I'll keep looking ... |

Thanks for sharing those pictures.
I like this one in particular. He's really looking like he's thinking. You think I'm cute, but I'm actually a little rascal. |

Stoli doesn't seem to be the least bit camera shy! So cute and tiny, he could almost curl up and fit in the bowl |

Stoli is getting on good. Charlie hates him though I thought maybe over time Charlie will get use to him, but he seems to be getting worse by the day. Not only does he try to attack Stoli, if he sees him. Charlie is also hissing at me, and trying to go for me.
I feel so sorry for little Stoli, as i have to keep him in a seperate room. Not sure what im gonna do yet. As i doubt Charlie will ever like Stoli.
It looks like one may have to go. I couldnt get rid of Charlie, as i doubt anyone would take him in, cause of his age, personality etc
I think the right thing may be to give Stoli back. Its just going to be selfish of me to keep him. When i know that his 2 brothers have been adopted out together, and there is a place for him there too.
Its just gonna be so sad to give him up |

Martina thats so sad
The article says "It may take six to eight weeks or longer for cats to settle down". Maybe you can give it some more time. Unless it looks like Charlie might hurt little Stoli in which case it might be for the best ...
Poor little Stoli |

Nice link you found.
I never realised that more then one cat can be trouble, unless you have enough space.
It even says:
Cats may also fight -- even cats that have been best buddies for years. They become more susceptible to illness and disease when under stress. Cats, too, may become unhousetrained, and, in some cases, direct aggression towards their owners, as well as towards the newcomer.
In fact only few animals can be kept together easily, cows and sheep are the best kwown examples, but they are not common as pets
I hope the best for you & the cats |
