Just water for me, thank you, I'm always the designated driver, so to speak. Hm, I wonder how that would equate in Bon Bon, being the designated driver?

I've never much been one for drinking. I only drink for others.

I do enjoy playing a drinking game, but otherwise don't touch the stuff. Beer does nothing for me, and I hate the taste of most alcohols.

I don't care to acquire the taste either thank you. Confused

I do however always post the dare of "If you can find something I can't detect the alcohol in, I'll get drunk with you off it."

. . .I've had people take me up on that bet, and only 1 person has succeded.

Really? I'm almost a chemist, surely I could whip up something...

Does it have to be ethyl alcohol? Laughing

I never get drunk, I always know my limit, and I don't let "buddies" pressure me into "just one more shot/beer/whatever". I also don't play drinking games (well, except for beer-pong, that's pretty fun).

One trick I learned whenever you're in a party or bar situation is to carry a bottle of beer with you at all times, especially if it's in a dark bottle, once you feel like you've had enough. If you just sip on that one beer and make it last, people will be less likely to want do buy you another drink if they think you've already got one. Again, make sure it's a dark bottle, because a clear bottle (like say for Corona) doesn't hide the fact that you've been sipping the same half-empty beer for the past hour very well. Sometimes it can't be helped when you've got buddies trying to pass you shots when you've got a full beer in your hands, so just learn to stay clear of those buddies or use clever tactical misdirection.

As for my drinks of choice, I prefer straight bourbon, Jack and Coke, Black Russians and some other mixed vodka drinks, and beer, though I usually play the rule of not mixing liquor and beer. Speaking of beer, I've especially become more interested in microbrews and ales, as opposed to the usual lagers and pilsners that dominate American domestic beers. Current favorite: Bell's Oberon Ale, made out of Kalamazoo, Michigan.

...

...I swear, I'm not a heavy drinker, but one doesn't spend four years working at a bar without learning what drinks they prefer over others...

Well, I enjoy a challenge. Besides, my family has a tradition of making interesting cocktails. So I have a fair amount of formal and informal training in mxing intoxicating concoctions. Ought to be able to get a recipe that'll do...

Well, a friend of mine decided to sit me down a try a whole bunch of drinks. (This happened to be at Anime Central, a convention in Chicago for Anime & all that encompasses it)

Well, after 7 different hard drinks, they gave me a Bicardi O3. I don't know if its because of the citrus flavor or the fact that my tongue had gone slightly numb from all the alcohol (I had never had a hard drink in my life other than a glass of champagne) but I couldn't taste the alcohol. So, we played quarters until I had drunk a case and a half on my own.

Otherwise, I have a very sharp taste for alcohol.

Well, I'll just have to put your skills to the test than Ms. Fuchs.

As we saw in our last thread, a good deal of us enjoy a good challenge. Wink
