It is a good quote. Sounds like something a superior would say, at least one with some shmarts to him.
Myself, I don't drink for me, I drink for others. Hence why my friends through the GMD: Get Mike Drunk (Mike, being my real name offline)
And as one not much for drinking, I must say I can handle 12 double shots and still walk to the couch, though I suggest no one try and "Tap" me "Out" for those who know what it is.
Well, a friend who was there thought it'd be funny to "Tap Out" as many as he could, seeing everyone drinking as easy targets. Well, me being on the couch, right foot on the floor, left leg sprawled out on the couch, perfect target right? Wrong. He hit me on the thigh, and being under the influence, I couldn't hold myself back and just reply with a smartass remark. Instead, in a fluid motion, I hoped over the couch with my hand still grabbing the couch (which wheeled back and nearly fell over) connect him in the chest with an un-aimed, full forced punch, then hoped exactly back into the couch which landed right with a thud. Didn't mean to, but the poor lad ended up with a rather huge welt spanning his whole left breast. |

What kind of night would it be without a little drunken fighting? Makes for a good laugh. As long as no one gets seriously hurt. |

Personally, I love to drink. Responsibly that is. I know what my limit is and I'm happy to say that, while I have indeed been drunk, I have never gone so far as to become sick or so that I couldn't remember. According to my friends, I'm usually rather amusing. |

I hear you Xebulon. I know my friends recall the tale of the first time I got drunk. We were at an Anime Convention (ACen in Chicago) and I was tapping my head against the glass back of the central elevator, turning on a dime and giddily saying Hi! to anyone who opened the door.
Heri, I've had to be the conscious of a few good female friends of mine plenty of times, including to keep a well kept promise of never getting sexually involved with a close friend of mine. She's also the main person that I created Mystic off of. Hence why Mystic tends to flirt with Labrn, even though he's her brother. (My friend calls me her big brother all the time when she snuggles up for a hug from me)
Yes, but you gotta be careful. One of these days Labrn.

I'm strange. I don't really have anything against alcohol. I just never want any. I don't like how it makes me feel.
Anyway, so far it still seems like a normal day in Bon Bon. Kinda wish my days were more like that... |

Well, as much as it may sound like I enjoy the stuff, I actually hate alcohol. I just tend to have amusing stories around it. I hate the taste of it, and avoid it unless one of my 3 rules about alcohol is brought into question.

Something about either alcohol, normality or sex. I'm not sure which but since I'm far from normal I'll have another drink. |

I was changing the subject back to the comic and wasn't being very clear about it. I still think it'd be nice to have a Bon Bon kind of day, though. |

A BonBon kind of day?
Walking along beautiful cobblestone streets, lined with interesting shops of every short. Carts set up along the roads selling treats and flowers. Fresh mountain air, bright sky. And around every corner, friendly smiling faces giving warm greetings.
Kinda like that?? |

This reminds me of a question I had concerning Bon Bon. What is the primary language if the town? Yes, it is located in Italy so I imagine that many of the residents speak Italian as their primary language, but the town seems to rely upon outsiders for it's income. While we do have a varied cross-section of nationalities among the forum member's characters, and while it is not unlikely that some of them speak Italian, it is doubtful if they all do (Please do correct me if I am mistaken). German is a possibility I suppose, or maybe English.
*shrug* Any thoughts? |

Perhaps it is like Czech, where its a mixture of all the surrounding langauges. *shrugs*
Mmm, perhaps their are lovely translators who can help guests out when dealing with the locals, perhaps even joining them in their fun.
Here's to a Bon Bon kinda day. |

Bon Bon isn't truly in Italy, but exactly at the border between Italy and Austria, below the Dolomites http://files.caprionline.it/article/1107_Alta_Badia/image/1_z.jpg
and, being a sort of Montecarlo that must welcome tourists from all over the world, the languages spoken there are surely a mix of italian, german and french, but the signs and the writings are in english...
I must admit that this is the most difficult question that has ever been asked to me... anyway I've been in Austria to Innsbruck (city that inspired me for PBB, since there's a castle similar to the DC and a casino, as you can see in this topic http://forums.pleasurebonbon.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3950
and there the shopkeeper speak perfect Italian, Germa, French and English! |

I imagined it'd be a very polyglot town. I mean, just look at the characters so far... William, the Blues, Daphne, and Lou have British/American surnames. The twins Ophelia and Dalila, plus Dorian, are French, I think. A name like Edelweiss is unmistakably German in origin. And Sibilla is naturally one of the wandering Roma. I suspect Betty is Jewish, myself, though it matters little here. And Violet... I have no idea. She is a very peculiar raccoon. And then of course, we add in the nationalities found amongst us. Odd thing, though... Italians seem to be hard to come by.
Still, it's not that hard to pick up a few more languages when you're immersed in them. After all, Vanessa herself has an excellent command of English in addition to her mother tongue. I suspect she knows more than a bit of German, as well.
Sometimes I regret English becoming the new lingua franca, as it makes it hard for native English speakers to pick up another tongue. As it is, I can just barely understand some of the meaning in Italian by summoning my knowledge of Latin and Spanish. |

Sounds like an accurate analysis of everyone, Kommy. Though, what origin do you suppose Labrn comes from? *raises an eyebrow*
Oh I envy you linguists! The only other real langauge I know (so far) besides English is Game Jargin, which Martin can vouch can easily throw off anyone who is fluent or familiar with the terms. So many times I've simply told someone to roll dice but said "roll 3d6" and they look back at me utterly confused.
Well, I do hope to pick up another langauge or two while attending NIU. |

From what I understand, German is one of the easiest languages for native English speakers to learn as they both share the same root language. |
