It has been awhile since I posted so I figured I post with some great news. A few days ago I got a puppy. I named her Bear she's a golden retriever. Only a month and a half old and she is so cute, a light brown coat with a white tipped tail black tipped ears and a blackish stripe going down her spine. Even though she whines a lot and wakes me up at 4am every morning to take her outside(in the process stepping in dog pee as I get out the bed ) I'm still happy that I got her. |

| It's hard to go wrong with a golden retriever. They're some of the greatest dogs I know. Congratulations on this, the newest edition to your family. |

| Thanks. I want to train her to be a hunting dog. There are few things more relaxing than drinking some brew and hunting with mans best friend |

Part of me wishes I could have a dog, but I'm hardly home enough as it is and I barely have enough time to lavish attention on my cat as is. Probably explains why my cat always seems to want my attention... I always thought cats were supposed to ignore you.

Do you do much hunting Midnight? I'm just assuming (having only ever gone deer hunting once when I was a kid, so I'm no expert on hunting), but you use retrievers for stuff like duck hunting, right? Or maybe some other game birds? |

Well, we are their pets, not the other way around. |

I hunt when I can, which isn't a lot these days, but yes retrievers are good bird dogs. There are a lot of game birds where I live before and after winter, such as geese and pheasants. Also they can chase deer out of hiding for a clear shot. |

True, it seems like I'm on her schedule instead of my own. |
