oh god i just love scary stuff...
*story time lol*
one time when i was about 13 i went to a somewhat haunted church that was freaking huge... had 3stories and 2 below ground rooms... this thing went deep... So as i was walking around this Church with my friends that was suposed to be haunted, we fuond something that scared the crap out of us... we found a room with falling things in there... and then someone said "who touched me?" he was by the door and the closest person near him was 30 feat away... well we didnt leave after that so we all went into the attic and we found a hella lot of bats... oh my god that scared the crap out of me because one of them damn bats bit me... well personally i like bats so i didnt hit it off my neck (yes it bit my neck) i just tried to pry open its mouth... well because we got really scared after that we went back home after i went to the doctors because i got bit... (testing for rabies) well i didnt have any but that mark felt funny for years and it still does... i wonder if that what makes me crave blood every once and a while lol...
ok story over. i found $5 in that church.. but the testing cost a little more than $5 bucks. |

I used to live in a creepy house that still haunts my dreams from time to time as a symbol of foreboding, though the house itself was knocked down for a bypass (well.. highway expansion ;) ).
Creepy works for me for as long as I can stand it. ;) Otherwise, I just like old buildings. I like to touch the walls and imagine what had happened there long before, when the building was still active.
Are you guys familiar with http://www.opacity.us/ ? Urban exploration site, if you like creepy old places, you'll find thousands of photos to stir your imagination. :) |

Did anyone else just have a flashback of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or was it just me? |

I was a bit scared about the new movie 'cause I watched the old one (I think it was produced by the BBC) and read the book. Fortunately the new version was a lot better than I expected, especially the Planet Factory (and the creature that slapped everyone who had an idea was just hilarious XD ) |

I've only seen the new movie and read the books. Unlike other book-to-movies, it doesn't actually matter much to me that the movie strays away from the book. It stands on its own. |

hehe.. good catch, Ashton, that was my goal
The concept applies to both movies, the TV show, the book series, and AFAIK, both radio series. |

I still don't really want to make a new thread just for myself, although I guess the title is getting a bit old now, heh! I come and go pretty often due to my hectic work schedule but it has been a while since I've had much to say.
This time, though, I'm actually on vacation (well, almost.. unpaid time off due to a company shutdown...), so like my character often did, I've hopped across the pond and visited Europe. I spent three outstanding days in Paris (since BonBon wasn't available in RL ), and I'm spending the last few just outside Zurich.
I've never been to Paris before, and it was awesome. I dunno to bore you gentlefurs with the details, which already got one "TL:DR", but if you'd like to see you can hit my blog from the link below and check the last two entries. Only thing that might have made it better would have been a lady to share it with.
Pictures coming when I get a chance to sort and format them... probably this weekend. |

I have always longed for a trip into Europe. Unfortunately, all my travel has been land-locked within the U.S. |

A tempting offer, but it would be too hard to arrange, not to mention costly. I appreciate the offer, though. |

No, fortunately, it's just a week. There are two more of those to get through this year (along with the pay cuts, etc). So far I am okay, but thanks for the concern. I know it has been hard for a lot of people, and I hope things turn up all around very soon. |

Paris and Zurich? Sounds like you're having fun on your mandatory vacation, at least. Always wanted to try seeing Spain myself. Hablo espanol y me gusta la historia de Espana. Muy interesante.
I'd actually want to visit a lot of places, being an avid student of history and a bit of architecture. Italy and it's capital probably tops my list, of course. |

Of the places I want to travel, Italy probably tops the chart.
Seeing the grand coliseum in Rome has been a dream of mine for some time. |

... okay, I'll bite. Why trees??
The Roman coliseum and the ancient markets are high on my list, too, but I told a friend of mine I wouldn't go to Italy without him.
Tonight, I'm stranded overnight in Amsterdam. Technically I suppose I could hit the red light district and pretend, but I think I will sleep tonight, as my rescheduled flight has a very early departure. |

Hehe.. no worries, Henk, no worries. I'm home now, finally, rested, and I get a whole two days before I (metaphorically) set sail again, back to California. |

Still on the road of course.. always nice to be missed a bit, especially by one as sweet as Mystic
Still.. it makes it tough to keep up. I saw another reference to the Zone animation, are we paying for that yet?
Otherwise.. another week in California, get to go home for a week, then work has a second forced week-long shutdown, during which I'll be off to the Mother Country of Canada
After that... I /think/ I get to stay home a bit. |
