I don't know if anyone even noticed I was gone, but I disappeared without telling anyone almost a month ago; I am now back, though. I just got so busy with other things that I could no longer visit regularly, and when I visited I wanted to catch up on everything, but couldn't, so I ended up giving up and just avoiding the place for a while; added to that, I was without internet for over a week, so I would have been gone for a while anyway.
I notice a fair amount has happened since I've gone, including some new faces arriving. Rather than post individually in everyone's threads, I'll say a welcome to all of the new members here; if they read this, that is. So, to all the new members since I disappeared: welcome to Bon Bon; I hope you enjoy your sojourn here, and may it be one of great length.
In other news, as of 18th October 2008, I am now 21 years old. I still don't even feel 18. Also, my house is in the process of being sold, and I am in the process of buying a flat. I hope this doesn't hinder my visits here too much.
It feels good to be back, though I still haven't finished trawling through all of the recently updated threads. I think I've said enough now, so I'll let your eyes rest. |

It's always nice to be remembered. We have met before, Drof, but it was some time ago, so your lapse in memory is easily forgiven. |

Well, at least someone missed me. Thanks for that, Symphony. I hope not to disappear for so long again. |

We all disappear at one time or another on here, save for maybe Ashton and Xebulon. They seem to be pretty well set here. |

Well, we are some of the biggest ones here. And everyone needs someone to remain constant so they can fall back on them. |

I know I've already said it, but it is good to be back. I'm trying to work on my fursona a little more, but it's slow work for me, especially with a load of other things going on. I met a couple of artists last weekend, who I will likely ask to draw my fursona when I'm done, so then I can use those drawings to give Vanessa a better idea of him when it eventually comes round to my turn for an avatar. I also want to try my hand at drawing him, but again, time is an issue for me. |

I've tried the same thing, as I also wanted to give Vanessa something to work with, but I simply couldn't draw anything that looked anywhere near acceptable. All my attempts ended horribly.
But it's something I'd really like to do, as I think that I probably made my avatar description a bit long, and because I'm not sure if I'm being totally clear in all parts of it.
And I'll look forward to seeing a drawing of your fursona. It's a black tiger with silver stripes, right? |

Yes, though I'm actually still undecided about the actual colour of the stripes. Originally, it was white stripes with silver between the white and black, except on the tail, where the stripes alternated between white and silver, with the tip of the tail being a perfect blend of the two (well, actually, in the very original version, he just had different shades of black as stripes, but never mind). However, I'm not certain how that would actually look, or how easy it would be to depict in an image.
I also haven't decided fully on the clothing issue, either. What colours (originally, I decided white and silver clothes, but I might add a bit of colour in), and also what actual clothes. My inspiration at the moment is Gambit, from the X-Men, though I think only the staff and the coat can be incorporated into a Victorian style.
So, if I do request a drawing from each of those above-mentioned artists, I will allow them to experiment a little with the colouring of his stripes and clothes, and the actual clothes he wears; then I will see what I think of them. If anyone here wishes to try and draw him, too, they can feel free. The things I definitely want included, no matter what, are that he has black fur with silver (or silver and white) stripes and blue eyes, wears a fedora hat and a trenchcoat (or similar), and carries a bo staff. His method of carrying it isn't fixed, either.
Also, I had kind of decided on his occupation (a street magician, or as I think someone called it for Victorian times, a professional magician), but I need to research that a bit more before I make a final decision. It does fit his roguish character.
One other thing that I don't think I've mentioned before is that, at one point, he did have a red heart tattooed on the back of his neck. I haven't decided whether or not to include this, but it won't matter anyway unless he's seen from the side or from behind. |

Oh I do love obscure words. I was looking for anything about Victorian magicians (it seems there isn't much information about them on the internet, unless I'm just not looking hard enough), and I found a Victorian job title, legerdemainist, which basically means someone who uses sleight of hand (AKA prestidigitator). This is pretty much what I was after. It means I can do several things that require sleight of hand, including being a card shark. Perfect for what I had in mind for Tadelesh. Perhaps I should find a more legible title, though. |

I'm having a bit of a problem picturing your fursona. I keep thinking of him as a big muscular guy, probably because he's a tiger. But that doesn't really fit with my idea of his occupation.
I can't really remember if you've posted something about his height and build before. |

I might have done, but I'm not sure I have. He's muscular, but lithe. Not a body-builder or a powerhouse, more like an athlete's physique. So I guess more like a cat's figure than a tiger's. Height is around 6 foot. I've never actually given an accurate height, but I'm 5'11", so I've always pictured him as about my height or maybe slightly taller.
Good to see you too, Feingo. I notice you were gone for a bit as well, in the middle of my hiatus. Glad you're better now. -mock salutes, his arm, wrist and hand totally in the wrong position- |

Okay, that's pretty much how I've been trying to picture him. It's the species that threw me off. Right now I'm probably picturing him more like a panther with stripes. But that's not really that accurate either. |
