well it does require alot of art and programming.
and lots of testing. and debugging. making one is not as easy as you think.
i used to work for an mmorpg company. so i know what goes on behind the scenes. |

I gotta chime in with Ronald here, as someone who has also been a game industry professional. MMORPGs are a rough go for even large-scale companies, dude. It's an admirable idea to be sure, but I'd recommend going with something like a dating sim or something instead for a PBB game.
It isn't that I don't think you can do it; it's just going to be rediculously tough, especially for a first project. Trust me, I work with game maker and RPG maker on single player games, and THOSE bust my butt. While you could make an MMORPG, it would take a long time, require a very significant time investment (think about it this way: Companies with large programming teams, art teams, QA teams, and other departments STILL take about 4 years to put out anything), and in addition, require monetary investment for stuff such as servers and the like.
I think a PBB game is a great idea; like I said, though, a dating sim or life sim would probably be a lot less strain on you, and in my honest opinion, more appropriate for the setting as well.
Either way, best of luck, guy. |

There is no "must" about it, Henk. Just because that's what you want, does not mean everyone else wants it, and the person creating it can do what they want. |
