((Okay... now I've been wondering about this, and yes, it was really-really-really early in the morning when it came to me, and yes... I was kinda hammered but... how in the world do the characters in Bonbon put pants on with their tails? I know, I know, lame, but... I couldn't stop thinking about it.))

((I mean... what if the pants didn't have the "tail-hole", you'd have to either have it coming out of the waistband of the pants, causing a lot of pants to fall down... or tucked down a leg of the pants, giving a whole lot of false impressions on size. Or, for that matter, once you put yoru pants on, even with the tail hole, would you have to reach into the hole, and pull your tail out of it... kinda like threading a needle, or putting on a hairband?... yeah, sangria and I tend to come up with some really bizzare ideas... sorry.))

((Um... yeah, it really was a lot funnier and wondermaking at 3AM when the only thing in you is a whole lot of sangria... so... um... sorry.))

((On a more-serious side note, to Ms. Vanessa, where do you come up with the ideas for the clothing / costumes of your characters?))

Hmm. For pants I guess I'd get one leg in, thread the tail through the hole, and then the other leg. I think any pants not having a tail hole would be very uncomfortable.

Well, it seems you've already answered your own question, does'nt it. A tail-hole in the back.

But a person with a really big and fluffy tail might have a bit of a problem getting it through a tail sized hole. Perhaps if the hole is made bigger and there being a button or two, so it's really more of a large slit in the back that can be buttoned once the tail has been put through.

Well, if your that worried about tail holes, why bother with pants at all? Though, you'll have to worry about the other tail-hole with that in mind. Laughing

On a serious note, I think this came up once in a thread Symphony started about clothes. There was speculation that there are unseen zippers or buttons to cover where tail comes out, or that they have an extra sleeve/pantleg for the tail. Others keep the waist line low enough for the tail to simply come up out the back, like me. My tail is more like a second set of hair than a tail, so I don't have to worry as much about discomfort.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of the other tail-hole. Laughing

Well, I think everything's been covered here, really. Personally, I've always seen Tadelesh's trousers as having a hole in the back for a tail. As his is a fairly prehensile, slim tail, it's easy to just slip through a hole in the back of the trousers.

I still laugh at the sound of that. I had always referred to that hole like you would for a human, but its apparently a big deal to refer to it as a "tail-hole." *shrugs*

As far as pants go, I had always figured that it would be more like a sleeve or that the back-end would have a set of flaps, similar to the fly on a pair of pants, where you'd tie off the top of the flaps so that it forms a hold around the tail, but can easily be untied to let the tail loose. Such as if you were to use the bathroom or needed to disrobe.

An old comic called Dela the Hooda (don't know if it's still around, been a long time since I read it) addressed that in what I thought was a sensible way. The "hole" in the back of the pants was just that, a hole, but instead of having solid waistband or potentially painful zippers it was held up/closed by buttons. *shrug* Makes sense to me.

Kinda like a reverse "button-fly"?

How many clothes would you use at one day?

Well, tougher materials, or they'd just give up become men of the cloth with their holey clothes.

I have heard the same problem come up with chairs ect. Yet when I offer the solution of having a hole/gap at the back of the chair, I receive a look along the lines of "Are you mad". Rolling Eyes

Plenty of chairs have holes in the back of them anyway...

hehe. When I sit in fursuit, I usually drape my tail over my legs till I'm safely seated anyway. That'd be an easier thing for a true morph to do, since they have muscles that can move it aside.

I was thinking earlier - there seems to be only two solutions for wearing hats. You have to either have a hat that can fit between your ears, or cut holes in your hat.

I agree. Pretty much how I've seen it.

Hmm, you're right. I hadn't given much thought to hats before, but I just went through the Four Aces suite looking at all the characters wearing hats. Some species seem to have an easier time with ears that aren't that pointy. And then there are the ones with horns. It must be really difficult for those.

And then there is a similar problem with helmets.

Wings would be problematic as well. Hehe, I guess some of these things are difficult to explain logically.

I don't think that, in Vanessa's world, wings are a problem. If you remember Polyanna, she does not have wings.
