I remember symphony saying that diff breed can;t bring children, well that clears up my thought of how every adult scene in the comic is sometimes the male cum in the female, which makes me curious about pregnancy but that clers things up
but my question is, this means lets say a fox, me. can;t have another fox cum in me. cause that will bring pregnancy isn;t it? |

From what Vanessa has told, females in the PBB universe can only become pregnant during certain periods. Exactly how often it happens or how long such periods are, I don't know. But during such periods, the females apparantly avoid sex with males of their own species.
That's how I understand it. |

Hmm what about the so called 'musk' of males.

I think that is really just there to attract mates, however I'm not sure if it affects females of different species. |

I am personally quite thankful our esteemed host keeps the species line clear. Else I'd be compelled to try to figure out how hybridization could possibly work and I'd be tearing my fur out and wearing grooves in the floor from my pacing.
Crazed crossbreeding makes Charles Darwin cry.
As for ovulating, it varies quite a bit in mammals. Some only due it once a year or so. Some every week. In addition, while it is normally connected with some kind of chemical marker, humans have the unusual system of it being fairly hard to tell and thus can try it all the time.
Some theorize this is so it's pretty easy for a female to keep a male around and interested, both to keep him from 'servicing' another female and to ensure it is his genetic material, not a competitor's, that goes all the way. |

Agreed. Mary seems so determined to find Mr. Right, it would be hard to swallow that she believes her butler is "The One." It must be the loneliness and compounded by her being in heat.
Though, to keep everyone from getting pregnant, that's also a good reason to have every other breed mating with every other breed. |

I just had a thought. What about those that are in the same "family", such as the canines and felines? Would, for example, a lion and a tiger, or a wolf and a dog, be able to reproduce, like they can in the real world? Or is that not possible in the world of Bon Bon? Also, what about different breeds of the same species (like, maybe, a dalmatian and a poodle)? |

Foxes can't breed with other canines. Different fox species can't really breed together, either. Lions and tigers can... sort of breed. Their offspring, when they come to term, are sterile. They can't breed at all with anything. Sort of like a mule, which is a commonly made cross between a horse and a donkey if I recall. They're sterile, too. |

Actually, female mules can become fertile(it's rare)and they can usually produce children as long as it's from a purebred horse or donkey. |

what will happen if science can let humans mate with animals? Mamals first than reptiles. then we will get the fursona's of bonbon and more.
And then some will say we play for god, not ethiecal not natureal.
But I say if someone made the technology and used it. we must let the 'persons/ creatures' life. They had not choice to become what they are if we say they have to die because of what they are then the persons how say that will don't give a damm thing about life it self.
When you accept life you accept all kind of it. I have problems with some persons but if I kill them than I don't accept life it self.
Life it a strange thing. And if you have to kill life to life on with you own than that oke for me, but when life have to be killed because of what it is than thats is wrong for me. |

Henk that will never happen sorry to say but a humans DNA is just to different form another animal or reptile....the only thing i could see a human reproducing with would be of the primate group... alas
now as i stated in my thread about chimeras in the general discussion's area of the forum it is possible to make a human/animal hybrid...but that's to unethical to say the least... |

Dr. Kommy is right in this point. There are really not many cases when animals of diffrent breed but same family can mix between one another, and those rare cases when they do, are unfortunetlly the end fo the line.
so I say... No wonder that Bonbon prospers so good. |

... it's not exactly possible yet, not in natural way. It will be, when they fully decode human genome. There is also possibility taht such mix wouldn't last for long simply becose some genes can react antagonistically and in result they can collapse the whole DNA chain. So far we must be satisfied with Mouses with human ears on their backs, and soy with cattle growth hormone. But no worries Peter, in few centuries you will be able to grow yourself a wolf tail with hopefully, no bigger risk.... and for now, forget the X-files, Full metal alchemist and Teenage mutant ninja turtles. |

Interestingly, coyotes are related closely enough to wolves, and thereby domesticated dogs, that coyote cross-breeds are possible. A sister of mine had a German Shepherd/Coyote mix as a pet years ago. Also, the Red Wolf species found in North America is sometimes theorized to be a result of cross-breeding between coyotes and Gray (Timber) Wolves.
With that in mind, I currently have a plot in mind for a story unrelated to my current fanfic about Johnny meeting with a youngster who claims to be his illegitimate child from his wilder days in the American West... of course, whether or not it's the truth will be revealed once I finish my other stories. |
